RESOLUTION NO. 2013-02
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA,
DECLARING THE POLICY OF THE CITY COUNCIL IS TO AUDIO RECORD ALL MEETINGS
OF THE OWASSO CITY COUNCIL; AND, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
IMPLEMENT SUCH POLICY.
WHEREAS, The City Council is committed to open government and ensuring that the
public is fully informed on the decisions and discussions of their elected City Councilors; and,
WHEREAS, It is the City Council's intention to improve governmental transparency; and,
WHEREAS, Citizen access to discussions relating to public policy development and the
adoption of public policy is beneficial to the public's interest; and,
WHEREAS, the audio recording and access to public meetings provides valuable
information to citizens who choose not to attend City Council meeting; and,
WHEREAS, audio recordings will provide citizens convenient access to policy discussion
via the city's website.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA,
that, to wit:
The intent of the Owasso City Council is to have an unedited audio recording of all portions of
the Owasso City Council meetings that are open to the public, as a means of maintaining a
verbatim record of such meetings, and to make those recordings available to the public via a
link on the city's internet website; and,
That, the City Manager is directed to plan, design, purchase, and install the equipment and
software necessary to affect the audio recording and provide convenient access to those
recordings.
