HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990.05.08_City Council MinutesOWASSO CITY COUNCIL MAY 8, 1990 On Tuesday, May 8, 1990 the Owasso City Council met in a special session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 1990. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with Mayor Marlar presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE. The flag salute was led by Mayor Marlar. ITEM 3: SWEARING IN OF WARD THREE COUNCILMAN JASON GITTELMAN City Attorney Ronald D. Cates gave the oath of office to Mr. Gittelman. Councilman Gittelman was then seated at the council bench. ITEM 4: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Patricia K. Marlar, Mayor Mark Thompson, Vice Mayor Jason P. Gittelman, Councilman Von E. Stockler, Councilman John P. Phillips, Councilman Rodney J. Ray, City Manager Ronald D. Cates, City Attorney Jane Buchanan, City Clerk ABSENT: None A quorum was declared present. ITEM 5: ELECTION OF MAYOR. A motion was made by J. Phillips, seconded by V. Stockler, to nominate Mark Thompson as Mayor. AYE: Phillips, Stockler, Gittelman, Thompson, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 1 OWASSO CITY COUNCIL MAY 8, 1990 Mayor Thompson received the gavel and chaired the remainder of the meeting. ITEM 5: ELECTION OF VICE MAYOR. A motion was made by P. Marlar, seconded by V. Stockier, to nominate John Phillips as Vice Mayor. AYE: Marlar, Stockier, Gittelman, Phillips, Thompson NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 6: PRESENTATION OF FINAL REPORT FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS COMMITTEE. Mr. Ray give the report. He outlined the recommended projects in the first year of the program. He gave a brief overview of each project. After the presentation, Mayor Thompson opened the floor for discussion and comments from Council. The floor was then opened to the public for questions and comments. ITEM 7: ADJOURN. With there being no further business to be brought before the Council, Mayor Thompson asked for a motion to adjourn. A motion was made by P. Marlar, seconded by V. Stockier, to adjourn.
