HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989.03.27_City Council MinutesGWASSO CITY' COUNCIL MARCH 27, 1989 On Monday, March 27, 1989 the Gwasso City Council met in a special session, called by Mayor Lamb, in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the P~otice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 5:u0 p.m, on Thursday, March 23, 1989. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at b:US p.m. with Mayor Lamb presiding. ITEM ~: FLAG SALUTE. The flag salute was led by Mayor Lamb. ITEM 3: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Stacy P. Lamb, Mayor Patricia Marlar, 'vice Mayor Mark Thompson, Councilman Von E. Stockier, Councilman John P. Phillips, Councilman Rodney J. Ray, City Manager r:irby Growe, O.P.W.A. Manager Jane Buchanan, City Clerk. ABSENT: Ronald D. Cates, City Attorney A quorum was declared present. ITEM 4: CONSIDERATIGN OF ACCEPTANCE OF GFFER OF ENTERLINE ET AL TG SELL PERMANENT RIGHT-GF-4JAY GN 86TH STREET NORTH AND 129TH EAST AVENUE IGENTIFIEG IN THE BeTH STREET NORTH ENGINEERING PLANS AS TRACT NO. 33 33t 34 & 35. Mr. Ray presented this item to Council stating the staff has negotiated a settlement with the owner that we believe is in the best interest of the City of Gwasso and it's citizens. h1r. Mark Enteriine and Mr. Jerry Adams, the owners of the tract of land, have agreed to donate Tract 33, 33t and 34 and sell the City Tract 35 for $5fl,flflfl. After discussion, a motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by OWASSO CITY COUNCIL MARCH 27. 1989 V. Stockler, to authorize the payment of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) to the 86th Street North and 129th East Avenue Partnership for the purchase of rights-of-way referred to as Tract No. 35. AYE: Thompson, Stockler, Marlar, Phillips, Lamb NA'Y : None MOTION: Carried 5-0 Vice Mayor Marlar commented for the record, that she sincerely appreciated the co-operation of the other land owners in acquiring all of the needed right-of-ways. Councilman Thompson concurred with her statement. ITEMS 5 AND 6 WERE REMGVED FROM THE AGENDA. ITEM 7: ADJOURN. With there being no further business to be brought before the Council, Mayor Lamb asked for a motion to adjourn, A motion was made by P. Marlar, seconded by V. Stockler, to adjourn.
