CHAPTER 1 ANIMAL REGULATIONS OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF OWASSO
For several months the Police Department has been working towazd updating the current animal
regulations found in Part 4 of the Owasso City Code. Many of the changes are minor in nature,
but there aze six major changes suggested:
1. Under the new Wild and Exotic Animal section -boas, pythons, and iguanas will be
allowed with a permit. All other wild or exotic animals (by definition) are prohibited.
2. No bees or bee hives are proposed to be allowed within the city limits.
3. There aze proposed limitations to the number of animals that may be kept by Owasso
residents.
4. Cruelty to Animal sections have been expanded to cover a number of abuse cases which
were not addressed previously.
5. No animals will be allowed to be given away in a public place (i.e. businesses, pazks,
shopping centers, etc).
6. No animal can be adopted without first insuring that shots and spaying/neutering will
occur.
The City Attorney was included in the preparation of the document, and a Public Hearing on
