Exception of Owasso Zoning Code Section 1002 to allow an Animal
Shelter on a property zoned AG (Agriculture) located about 800
feet south of the intersection of 4th Avenue and Main Street,
Owasso.
City Manager Rodney Ray presented the case for the Animal.
Shelter. He stated that seven sites were examined following a
meeting with concerned citizens on January 11, 1989, and that the
original site was still deemed to be the besV Mr. Ray and
Police Chief Erick Baker answered questions of the Board and
others present, Delores Hayes and Wilma Burton spoke in
opposition to the proposal, questioning the cost of upkeep, need
for showers, the number of employees needed, and why the money
was not being spent for people instead of animals,

The Board discussed Section 1014 of the Zoning Code relating
to the required size of parking stalls on commercial property.
The consensus on the Board was that a change in the Zoning Code
might 4 e necessary to address the parking space size issue.
