approve the minutes from the October 29, 2002 special meeting, Vicki Tapp seconded the
motion. A vote on the motion was recorded as follows:

Variance of the Owasso Zoning Code, Appendix F, Owasso Sign Ordinance, Section 420,
Accessory Uses in Residential Districts, TO ALLOW FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A GROUND SIGN /POLE MOUNTED on property zoned RM - -2 (Residential Multi-
Family Medium Density District). The subject property is described as the W % of the
SE '/4 of Section 16, Township 21 North, Range 14 East, Tulsa County, Oklahoma,
further described as 1.3307 E. 96 "' St. No., Owasso, Oklahoma.
Robert presented the case and described the surrounding property. He also discussed the
varying degree of slope and surrounding topography, which proves the necessity of the
request. Letters were mailed to property owners within three hundred (300) feet of the
property and the request was advertised in the Owasso Reporter. Staff received several
calls regarding the nature of the variance request, but not in opposition of the request.
One caller suggested the Board Members might want to consider a smaller sign in height
but if the trees along the front of the property remained, he (the caller) would not oppose
the height. Robert stated that one of the staff's conditions of approval would be that the
applicant coordinate the location of the sign with staff in order to ensure that the trees
would remain. Staff recommends conditional approval of ODOA- 02 -27, allowing for the
construction of a ground sign/pole mounted on property zoned RMm2 (Residential Multi -
Family Medium Density District subject to the following conditions:
1. The applicant coordinates the location of the sign within the boundaries of the
property with the Community Development Department, before clearing the
property's vegetation.
2. The applicant coordinates the lighting technique of the sign with the Community

Vicki.. Tapp moved to approve 0130A- 02 -27, allowing for the constraction of a ground
sign /pole mounted on property zoned RM --2 subject to the above staff recommendations,
Ken Foster seconded the motion. A vote on the nsotiori was recorded as follows:
