L CALL ,ro ORDER - Vicki Tapp called the meeting to order at 7008 PM and declared a gtorwn present. a BOLL CALL 1 Consider Approval of the Minutes of April 25, 2000 Regular Meeting, Jim Marta moved to approve the minutes of April 25, 2000. Ken Foster seconded. AYE. Foster, Tapp, Kimball, Igarta NAY: None The motion carried 4­0 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTPUBLIC HEAYUNG 4� O OA-00 -06 — QpikTrip i °anon - A request for a variance of the Owasso Zoning Code to allow for a second business sign with a height of 50' in a Ch (Commercial High Intensity) honing District. The subject property is described as NE /4., NW /4, NW /4, Section 32, 'township 21N, Range 14E and is located at 11526 E 76 "' Street N. Donna Sorrells described the case to the Board Members, She stated that the Owasso Veterinary hospital currently owns the property. The applicant is requesting the variance in order to replace the signs from the original location across E. 76 " Street North to the new store location. The legal advertisement was published and notification letters were mailed to surrounding property owners within 300'. Staff recommends approval of OBOA- 00069 subject to the following conditions: 1. The existing ground - mounted sign with a total of 93.3 square feet be replaced with a sign which conforms to the current sign ordinance limit of 90 square feet. 2. The rear pole sign be permitted with the original limitation of 217 square feet and 50' height. Susan Kimball moved to approve the Variance request subject to the above staff recommendations, Vicki Tapp seconded the motion. The subject property is described as a portion of Lot 15, Flock 5, Dale acres and is located. at 1. 1226 N Garnett Road. The, property is curfe tly occupied. by Speedy Bob's Auto 1,ot. Donna presented the item and described the location. She explained that the zoning district is CCU (Commercial General) which allows for non.-permanent accessory vendors by Special Exception. Surrounding property owners were sent notification and the legal notice was published in the Owasso Reporter. One call was received from a surrounding business owner. The request was explained and they had no objections. On Tuesday, May 23, 2000 a letter was received from three area business owners protesting the request. Donna distributed copies of the letter to the Members, 'Them; was discussion regarding the concerns of these three 'business owners and the time frame for removal of the trailer was discussed. Staff recor_ornends approval of the request with the following conditions; 1. Any signage be limited to that which is affixed to the trailer. 2. The applicant obtain a vendor license from the City Clerk's office. 1 The trailer be removed from the site when not in use for a period of more than one weep, 4. Trash containers should be located in the immediate vicinity of the Dar -B- Q applicant to ensure all refuse is properly disposed. 5, The trailer be removed from the site prior to December 31, 2000. Susan Kimball moved to approve the Special Exception subject to the above staff recommendations with the addition of item #5. If the applicant needs to expand the time Mr. Nelson will need to reapply to the Board of Adjustment. Jim lgarta seconded the motion. A vote on the motion was recorded as follows: AYE: Foster, Tapp, Kimball, Igarta NAY: None The motion was approved 4 -0. 6. O OA ®00 -08 — Noble Sarkg1psky — A request for a Variance of the Owasso Zoning Code to allow for a deviation in the required front yard setback in an RS-2 Zoning District. The subject property is described as Camden bark 11 and is generally located east of N. 129t" E Avenue between E. 90th Street N and E. 92nd Street No. Donna stated that the applicant has requested this item to be postponed until the next Board of Adjustment meeting.
