CAL L, TO ORDER & ROLL CALL - Jerry Duke called the meeting to order at 7:02 p1 and declared a quorum present. 1 ELECTION OF OFFICERS Election of Chairperson -_ Jerry puke nor- ninated Joy; Ramey 1-or Chairperson, Gale Whitaker seconded. AYE: Ramey, Whitaker, Duke MAY: None The motion carried. 3 -0. Election of Nice Chairperson - Jerry Duke nominated Gale Whitaker for Vice Chairperson, Joe Ramey seconded, AYE: Ramey, Whitaker, Duke MAY: None The motion carried 3 -0. Election of Secretary - Gale Whitaker nominated Jerry pulse for Secretary, Joe Ramey seconded. AYE: Ramey, Whitaker, Duke NAY: None The motion carried 3 -0. 3. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF JULY 22, 1997 - Jerry Duke moved to approve the minutes, motion was seconded by Joe Ramey. OBOA- 1-12 - A request for a Special Exception of the Owasso Zoning Code, Section 710, to allow for a church to operate on property zoned 1L, (Light Industrial). The subject property is described as Lot 4, Block 1, Three Lakes Industrial Lark, further described as 8263 Owasso Expressway, Owasso, OK, Mr. Rooney presented the staff report. The zoning codes classifies churches as a Use Unit 5 and are permitted in industrial districts with a Special Exception from the Board of Adjustment. The proposed tenant would like to rent 2,000 square feet to conduct church services and Sunday School. The use is intended to be temporary. The applicant was present to present his case and answer questions. The property owner to the south expressed concerns. Following discussion by staff, Board members and citizens, Gale Whitaker moved to recommend approval providing that this case be reviewed again in 12 months if necessary. Motion was seconded by Jerry Duke, AYES: Barney, Whitaker, Duke NAB': None The motion carried 3-0. 5. OBOA -97-13 - A request for a Variance of the side yard setbacks in an RM -1 District. The subject property is described as Lot 1, dock 1, Three sakes Village, further described as 11621 E 84th Court Forth. Mr. looney presented the staff report. The applicant is requesting a variance in order to permit the construction of a sunroorn addition. This request would allow the encroachment into the side yard setback by 3 feet. The property is built at zero lot line on the west, so the property owner can only expand on the east side of the dwelling. Surrounding property owners were contacted and no comments regarding the request were received. Staff recommends approval of the request for a variance. Gale Whitaker moved to approve the Variance request, seconded by Joe Ramey.
