HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985.04.23_City Council MinutesOn Tuesday, April 23, 1985, the Owasso City Council met in a special session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m, on April 19, 1985. ITEM l: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:07 p.m, with Mayor Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE Flag salute was led by Mayor Spencer ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd M. Spencer, Mayor Von Stockler, Councilman Robert Peel, Councilman James Smalley, Councilman (arrived at 8:25 p.m.) Dan Galloway, City manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ABSENT: Wauhilleau Webb, Vice-Mayor ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR CITY MANAGER TO ~XECU~E CONTRACT WITH D. R. CRANE, INC. FOR WATER AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ITQ CDBG PROGRAM. The City Manager reviewed the funding method for the City's match in the CDBG grant. Motion was made by Robert Peel, seconded by Von Stockler, to authorize the City rlanager to execute the contract with D. R. Crane for the water and drainage improvements in the CDBG Program. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. ITEM 5: CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF LEASE AGREEMETIT WITH THE F.O.R. CLUB. The City Manager and City Attorney reviewed the contents of the lease agreement, including two changes that had been made pursuant to the lease review meeting with the president and vice-president of the F.O.R. Club. Several members of the F.O.R. Club made statements, including Betsy Compton, John Smallego, and Rick Tyler.. Motion was: made by Robert Peel, seconded by Mayor Spencer, to approve the lease agreement with the F.O.R. Club. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Peel TVAY: None Motion carried. OWASSO CITY COUNCIL TWO APRIL 23, 1985 ~....~ 6. CONSIDERATION1 OF AUTHORIZATIOid TO EXPEi~TD $1,823.47 FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN APOLLO MONITOR, PART ~~3422 FOR THE FIRE DEPT. Motion was made by Mayor Spencer, seconded by Von Stockler, to authorize the expenditure of $1,823.47 for the purchase of an Apollo Monitor, ~k3422 for the fire department. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. 7. CONSIDERATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF KENNETH WOOD'S LETTER OF RESIGNATIOi1 FROM THE OWASSO PLANIQI~dG COMMISSION. Mayor Spencer read aloud Mr. Wood's resignation letter. Motion was made by Robert Peel, seconded by Von Stockler, to accept Kenneth Woods resignation from the Owasso Planning Commission. AYE: Messrs.
