Campbell Manager Lon Wilkerson Attorney for Mr. Caldwell ABSENT: Joe Ross Mayor Robert K. Ball Councilman The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Vice Mayor Jerry K. Myers for the purpose of discussing the contract on the Municipal Swimming Pool. In his opening remarks, Vice Mayor Myers called on Mr. Lon Wilkerson, Attorney for Caldwell Construction Company, the contractor on the swimming pool, asking Mr. Wilkerson to present his client's position regarding the progress on the Municipal Swimming Pool Project. Mr. Wilkerson advised, during his disuussion, that he was only present in a peace-maker role and from what he had been advised, a big part of the delay on the swimming pool project was supplies and equipment for this pool. Vice Mayor Myers asked of Mr. Caldwell if the lack of equipment was the main factor in the delay in the August 15, 1974 completion date of the pool. Mr. Caldwell replied No, however, after this date (August 15, 1974) supplies were slow in coming for the project and the work of the sub-contractors practically was at a stand still. It was expressed by the members of the Council and the contractor that neither party wished to delay the completion of this project. The Council, after much discussion, asked Mr. Caldwell if he could give a date for final inspection of this project. Mr. Caldwell replied that he should be done with the work within a week from Friday, or on December 6, 1974. Councilman Large stated there seemed to be a problem regarding the time on the pool project and the quality of concrete as reported by the independent testing company that caused the action of the Council in a previous meeting to request delay iri payments. Vice-Mayor Myers again asked Mr. Caldwell for a date that he could be ready for final inspection on this project. Mr. Caldwell advised that he could be ready for final punch- list inspection no later than December 15t 1974. Councilman Large moved that the City make payments that were now due on time so as not to delay construction any longer. The second was made by Mr. Duncan. Ayes; Myers, Large, Duncan.
