The Owasso Town Council met in regular session in the Town Hall July 3, 1972 at 7:00 p.m,
Present: Joe Ross President of Board
Robert Peel Vice President
Dean Large Trustee

Josephine Downey Deputy Clerk

Evan L. Davis will be present at next meeting to discuss bond issue.
All town employees except two accepted the retirement plan.
Mr. Peel moved we hire a "Grade-All" to clear ditches in support of the street program.
Mr. Duncan seconded the motion providing we can get an operator. Ayes: Ross, Large,
Mowery, Peel, Duncan.
Mr. Large said that after investigating, he saw no need for "no parking" signs in front
of the Hale Apartments on Atlanta and 7th Street.
Lew Ayres took another fob and is working only part time as policeman now. Bennett has
stepped up to his place as of July 1. Mr. Large moved he be given a $25.00 raise. Mr.
Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes: Ross, Peel, Duncan, Mowery, Large.
Mr. Ross read a letter from Owasso Builders Supply Co. (Hurbert Hale) ob,fecting to the
mandatory trash service. He prefers to provide his own service. After some discussion,
the Board agreed that no exceptions could be made.
Most of the visitors present objected to the mandatory service. Pete Cerda said he had f
been charged for services which had never been rendered. He wishes to dispose of his own
trash. Several women voiced ob ections also.

Mr. Large suggested the people who cannot afford to pay the trash service, mark that charge
off and pay only the water and sewer bill until some decision is made on the matter.
Dub Bryson complained about the ditches which had green cleaned too much on Atlanta. The
Council agreed that some fill would have to be done.
Mr. Hale said he would be willing to buy the trash service if a reasonable price can be
worked out. The Council suggested he negotiate with the trash man on a price, as the
businesses do.
Council agreed to take the complaints under advisement
