Tr- Dwasso Town Council met in regular session on March 6, 1972 at 7:05 p.m. in down Hall
Present: Joe Ross,.presiddnt of council
Robert Peel, vice president of cc,uncil
~. D. Duncan, member
Dean .Large, member
Josephine Downey, clerk
Bill VanDall, acting attorney
Absent: John Mowery
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
P4otion made by Duncan and second by Large to renew X6,000 of the r'iremen's pension in
certificates of deposit for 24 months. `1'o renew X10,000 of winking Fund for 12 months and
x.2,000 for 6 months. Ayes Duncan, Peel and Large.
In as much as the City Attorney, T~_. S. Sawyer, is still in the ICU of St. Francis Hospital,
Peel made a motion, second by Peel to hire Bill VanDall at the present pay. Ayes Peel,
Large and Duncan.
Feel made a motion, second by Large that VanDall be hired for a period of now until
May 1, 1972. Ayes Peel, Duncan and Large.
Ross asked that the record show that the council thanked ~anDall for the great job he has
done for the city on such short notice.
VanDall said the record should show that the matter with the ~°ingo Valley Shopping Center
had been taken care of.
Ross read a letter from J. Dale Dowdy and said he sent a check for project Application
OK lA-9 (72) for X15,099. He is with the Oklahoma Civil. Defense.
Vandall is to meet with Charles Norman about the sewer line and report at the next meeting.
Letter of thanks was read from Tom Schick, Civil Defense.., concerning radios given sometime
back.
Letter from Charles :spencer was read showing the different ordinances andsteps to be
taken in changing the city government and writting the charter. VanDall is to go over
ordinances and have them ready for the council to act on at the next meeting.
Peel made a motion, second by Large to advertise for bids for trash collector for the next
two weeks and if possible hire one at the next meeting.
Permission was given Oklahoma Special Olymics to come to:Owasso to solicit funds for their
projects with the retarded.
Duncan made a motion, second by Peel to have Ross help County `'ommissioner Lewis Harris,
in anyway he can in obtaining more funds for county work. Ayes Large, Peel and Duncan.
VanDall is to handle traffic court on Saturday and Jerry Pickerill will serve as judge.
The following claims were signed and there being no futher business the meeting, adjourned
at 8;10 p.t~.
