HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970.11.19_City Council Minutes~3 ~~ November 19, 1970 The Owasso Town Council met in specia~_ session on November 19, 1970 at 7:03 p.m. in the Town Hall: Present: John troth Bill Henson Joe Ross Gary Evans Inez Odom Josephine Downey M. S. Sawyer President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Attorney The purpose of the meeting was to introduce Ordinance No. 130 for public discussion. Mr. troth read the Ordinance~~roviding for a temporary supplemental increase of present sewer Service Charge; limiting the time such supplemental increase in said sewer charge shallremain in effect; establishing the amount of each charge; declaring this ordinance to be supplemental to and a *~art of existing Ordinances; stating the date such increase shall become affective; pre7riding for automatic termination of the application of this Ordinance, and eclaring that termination of the time limit of the existance of this Ordinance shal~ot affect the operation of ordinances existing at the time of passage of this Ordinance. For the purpose of providing funds for the maintenance, repair, extension and operation of the sewers and sanitary sewer system of the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, and for other purposes pertaining thereto, there is hereby imposed and established the following supplemental Sanitary Sewer Service charges or fees: The sum of One Dollar ($1.00) per month, in addition to presently existing sewer services charge, shall be charged against each residence, building, structure, bus~~ess or place receiving sewer service: The date of the Ordinance is to be affective twenty-four months and to expire on February 1, 1973 • Mr. troth explained the dire need of sewer lagoon improvement and the method of improving with the additional revenue, since we now have 3,554 people living in Owasso. The total cost of the project is to be approximately $33,000. with approximately $10,000. being furnished by a Federal Government Grant. The floor was opened for discussion. Tom Rikkola asked some questions, then Herbert Hale and Carl Hills gave objections to the Ordinance. After all comments were heard Mr. Henson moved we adopt the Ordinance No. 130. Mx. Evans seconded the motion. Ayes: troth, Evans, Henson, Ross. Mr. Henson moved the meeting adjourn at 8:23 p.m. Nx. Evans seconded the motion. Ayes: troth, Henson, Ross, Evans.
