HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969.11.17_City Council Minutesr~-~ `.,~ ~ November 17, 1969 The Owasso Town Council met in regular session on November 17, 1969 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. Present: John Groth Bill Henson Gary Evans Howard Stamper Inez Odom Josephine Downey Absent: Joe Ross President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Mr. Groth said the County had officially approved the Kornegay water lines which we are building. Mr. Groth proposed we buy a sewer agitator for the lagoon, for approximately $3,000. and pay for it from the Town funds to be repaid by the O.U.A. on a rental basis of $500. to $700. monthly. The Board was agreeable to investigating the proposal further. Mr. Evans moved and Mr. Henson seconded we continue the policy of giving full-time Town employees a $25. Christmas bonus. Mr. Groth presented Ordinance No. 120 and a proof of publication from the W S & W Development Co., Inc. asking for annexation of 10 acres in Ator Heights Addition. The Ordinance was read and no objections were heard. Mr. Henson moved the Ordinance be accepted. Mr. Stamper seconded the motion. Ayes: Groth, Henson, Evans, Stamper. Mr. Henson moved that an emergency exists and that the Ordinance should be effective immediately. Mr. Stamper seconded the motion. Ayes: Groth, Henson, Evans, Stamper. Mr. Groth presented Ordinance No. 121 and Proof of publication from the W S & W Devel opment Co., Inc. asking for annexation of 63 acres in Ator Heights Addition. Mr. Hanson moved the Ordinance be accepted after no objections were heard. Mr. Evans seconded the motion. Ayes: Groth, Henson, Evans, Stamper. Mr. Henson moved that an emergency exists and the Ordinance should be effective immediately. Mr. Evans seconded the motion. Ayes: Groth, Henson, Evans, Stamper. The Tulsa City-County Health Department has asked our consideration of fluoridation of our water supply by adding the chemical to the water to prevent tooth decay. The inital equipment would cost approximately $4,000. or $5,000. plus a daily cost of $8.00 to $10.00 for supplies. Mr. Henson moved we raise Mr. Bruce Davis $15. per month bringing his salary to $425•, effective November 16, 1969. ~. Stamper seconded the motion. Ayes: Qlroth, Henson, Evans, Stamper. Because the Town has required a regulation uniform for all full policemen, Mr. Henson moved a $50.00 a year uniform allowance be given each policeman, effective January 1, 1970 and payable at the second Council meeting in January, 1970. Mr. Evans seconded the motion.
