HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967.03.20_City Council Minutes_5 March 20, 1967 The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at 7:20 p.m. on March 20, 1967, in the Town Hall. Present: John troth Joe Ross V. D. Duncan Inez Odom Josephine Downey Absent: Ernie Foster Dean Large President of the Board Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Trustee Trustee The minutes of the Last meeting were read and approved as read. ~ Mr. troth reported that the Chamber of Commerce will probably withdraw their petition against the use of radar at their next meeting. Mx. troth received a summons for the Town of Owasso to answer on or before March 28, 1967, in regard to a suit brought by Gordon Clay for $10,000. A letter was also received from attorney, Russell E. Moss asking u.s to contact his office for settle- ment in the case for unlawful arrest. A petition was read from Owasso Builders Supply Company, consisting of Hale Brothers asking for annexation of Hale Addition: A part of the SE1 of the Nt~Tl of Section 30, Twp. 21-N, Range 14-E, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point 150 fegt North of the SE Corner of the Nt~Jl of said Section 30, Thence N 0 15' 46" W along the East Line of said NW1: a distance of X35 feet to a point, Thence West and Parallel to the South Line of said Section 30 a distance of 592 feet to a point, Thence South and Parallel to the East Line of the Nf~i': of said Section 30 a distance of X335 feet to a point, Thence S 89 46~ 7" E and Par- allel to the South Line of the RPn'? of said Section 30 a distance of 592 feet to a point, said point being the point of beginning and con- taining 11.01 acres, more or less. The petition is being advertised and a hearing was set for 7:30, April 3, 1967. A letter was read from Roger L. Smithey, a State Representative concerning courts in small Towns. Mr. troth has been appointed Chairman of "Keep Oklahoma Beautiful" committee. Mr. Ross moved and Mr. Duncan seconded that we adopt the proposed (attached) SANITARY SETrTER AND WATER SYSTEMS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE TOL~INN LIMITS. Ayes: troth, Ross, Duncan. Mr. Duncan moved and Mr. Ross seconded we adopt the proposed (Attached) WATER LINE SPECIFICATIONS AND RULES. Ages: troth, Duncan, Ross. A zoning application and $25. check was received from Standard Auto Supply but the Town cannot act upon zoning until it has been recommended by the planning Commission. Mr. VanAlstine asked for the sign to be moved at "DO-NOT-ENTER'' Lanes, north of To to a more conspicious place. The Board gave permission for him to move them as he~hinks best. `'~7 March 20, 1967 Minites continued --- Gary Sherrill has been given five tickets for improper parking at 4th and Main Street. There is a disagreement about the property belonging to the Town or to Sherrill. The case was postponed by the court last week until_ a survey could establish ownership of the parking space. It was agreed for Mr. PateTS engineer to survey the land from a definate point which has been established. Mr. Sawyer suggested the policemen continue to give tickets for violations. The Board discussed an Ordinance amendment in regard to ;animals, and decided it was necessary to have 65,000 sq.ft. or 11 acres for an animal of a certain nature to be kept and that excretions must be picked up daily and disposed of in a sanitary manner. Mr. Hale discussed his parking problem at 711 North Atlanta Apartments. He also presented a plat for Hale Addition. The City will take bids for water lines to the addition immediately after annexation. A plat of the Hale Addition was delivered to the Town. The following claims were approved: Sewer Fund H. C.
