HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967.08.21_City Council Minutesf ~~ August 21, 1967 The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on August 21st, 1967, in the Town Hall. Present: John R. Groth Mike Chandler Dean Large Gary Evans Inez H. Odom Josephine Downey M. 5. Sawyer Absent: Joe Ross -- Working President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Attorney The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. Mr. Groth announced that Mr. Sherrill is preparing a lease agreement on City Hall building for one year at $150.00 per month. The City received delivery of a new International truck on Monday, August 21, for $1,776. A new mower is expected to be delivered on August 27 for $450.00 with trade. The audit for the 19b6-67 ,year was reviewed by the Board, also the Estimate of Needs and Financial Statement. The following claims were approved: Meter Deposit Fund: R. G. He moved we open the park building and put the benches and tables out on the grounds for use. Mr. Chandler seconded the motion. After some discussion, Mr. Large changed his motion to: open the building at 10:00 a.m. and close it at dark unless in use for some special activity in which case to remain open no later than midnight. Chandler seconded the motion. Ayes: Groth, Chandler, Large, Evans. Mr. Sawyer said parking offenders who had been given tickets at 4th and Main were being suspended because of the uncertainty of private or City property. He suggested we construct a sidewalk on City area according to our survey in order to settle the much disputed matter. Mr. Groth asked Mr. Evans to check on feasibility of sidewalks. Mr. Pate presented the Council with a Tulsa Citp Ordinance which might help in regard to a new sewer trunk line in Owasso. (Dr. Reed needs sewer service to his trailer park south of town.) The suggestion had been made to work out a system for developers to build sewers on a pay-back system.
