HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967 02_Interlocal Corperation Act agreement organizing INCOG_1967.07.17ON MOTION OF MIKE CHANDLER, SECONDED BY GARY EVANS, TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASS, OKLAHOMA, AND ON ROLL CALL, THE FOLLOWING RESOLTUION WAS ADOPTED. RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AGREEMENT FOR THE ORGINIZATION ON OF THE INDIAN NATIONS COUNCIL OF GIVERMKENTS PURSUANT TO THE INERLOCAL COOPERATION ACT OF OKLAHOMA AND AUTHRIZING THE EXECUTEION THEREOF. WHEREAS, 74 o.s. 1965, Section 101 et seq. (interlocal cooperation Act) perits local govermental units to make the meet efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage and thereby to provide services and facilities in a manner and pursuant to form of govermental organization that will accord best the geographic, economic, population and after factors influencing the needs and development of local communities; and WHEREAS the Town of Owasso, Oklahoma, is entitled to avail itself of the provisions of said act and this Board deems it advisable to participate in the proposed Indian Nations Council of Governments; and WHEREAS, the attached certified copy of the proposed agreement for the orginization of the Indian Nations Council of Goverments, the original of the proposed agreement being filed with the county clerk of tulsa county, under miscellaneous members 74574, meets with the approval of this board, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASS, OKLAHOMA, that it be, and is the declared intent of this board to avail itself of the provisions of 74 o.s. supp., 1965, section 1001 et seq. (Interlocal Cooperation Act) to particiapte in the Indian Nation Council of Goverments pursuant to this resolution and the attached proposed agreement, and the president of this board is hereby authorized and directed to execute the formal agreement on behalf of the town of owasso, oklahoma. adopted and approved this 17th day of july, 1967.
