Sawyer President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Treasurer Town Clerk r New Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Attorney The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved with the exception, Mr. Large ha.d moved we have weeds cut from the Davidson property instead of Mr. Duncan. The Treasurer's Report was read and approved. Mr. troth brought up the subject of the zoning committee and suggested we use T.C.t:.P.A. Mr.. Sherrill asked to to wait until next meetine for further discussion_ Mr. troth recommended Mr. Sawyer be authorized to draw up a new ordinance for classify- ing zoning. Dean Large so moved. Mr. Sherrill seconded the motion. Ayes: troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. Mr. Cummings presented a sketch of previously discussed property. The sketch was not complete. Nir. troth suggested it be made complete. Mr. Cummings discussed plans further. Mr. Sherrill figured footage a.nd expressed opinion it was probably O.K. Mr. troth asked for more detail. The new fire truck was delivered to City Hall about 5:00 p.m. Mr. troth said we need hose and nozzles which would cost approximately .1300. A few minor changes were also to be made on the truck such as a larger battery and a few other sriall things. Air. Sherrill moved we accept the truck after the minor changes are made, subject to passing the test to be made on the morning of July 7. Mr. Large seconded the motion. Ayes: troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. The members of the present fire department were called to the table for discussion. They agreed to give the City the 1200 feet of 2~" hose off the old truck which the City had bought. This made the additional cost for hose and. nozzles amount to only about X320. instead of the X1300. Mr. troth suggested thF.: present fire board continue. According to Mr. Smith, of The Oklahoma Insurance stating Bureau, we must have one fire chief, two assistants, at least twelve volunteers and not over twenty-four volunteers. We must also draft a fire ordinance. Mr. Sawyer will draw one. A pension fund of X5.00 per y:=;ar, per member is customary. Dean Large moved Harry Worley be Fire Chief. Duncan seconded the motion. Ages: troth, Sherrill, Large, Dur.car_. Mr. Duncr:n moved and Mr. Sherrill seconded that Scotty Glasgow, Ira Leach, Jack Cramer, and Dean Large be made assistants. Ayes: troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. ~ meeting, was set for Monday evening, Jul;r 12, for the fire department and the Council. .~ July 6, 1965 - Minutes continued Mr. troth said the City must modify the building to house the fire trucks. The building belon~_~s to Mr. Worley and will be leased by the City and bids let. Nir. Large so moved. Mr. "uncan seconded the motion. Ayes: troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. Mr. Sherrill moved we pay for the fire truck according to the contract: 20% upon acceptance with the balance to be paid in four pa~>ments yearly. Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes; troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. Mr. troth said he had talked to two previous Councilmen who said they did not agree to pave Hale's street on Atlanta as he had stated at the previous meeting. References were made to previous minutes where no mention was made of an agreement. No action was taken. Mrs. Eaton has a drainage problem on Atlanta after storms which needs correction. Mr. troth suggested Herb take care of it. A suggestion was made to curb and assess owners on that str:;et. Mr. troth suggested Miss Downey should have an increase in salar~a. Mr. Sherrill moved we increase $40. per month, as of July 15, 1965. Mr. Large seconded. Ayes: troth, Sherrill, Large, Duncan. Mr. Clay said a dog had died and it's head had been sent to O~aahoma City for tests. He said Herbert Hale had offered to loan the ~'ity a panel truck to pick up dogs. Miss Downey said the Gity had received a X40. donation for a lot in a roadway in the Cemetery, where a Jack Deckard was buried, and it was later Found to be illegal for a bural in a roadway, and no deed was ever given. the parents were unhappy about the matter and now that the father is very ill, she suggested we give a single gravesite for bural of the father when needed.
