Duncan moved that Ordinance 65 be adopted. P1r. Foster seconded the motion. Ayes, C'r.oth, Duncan, Sherrill, Foster. I~'r. Duncan further moved that emergency clause be invoked. NIr. Foster seconded the motion. Ayes, troth, Duncan, Sherrill, Foster. Ordinance 66 amending Sect~_on 58, Chapter 8 of Revised Ordinances of 1957 pertainine to vehicles mufflers was presented. Nir. Sherrill moved that Ordinance 6b be adopted. Nir. Foster seconded the motion. Ayes, C:~roth, Duncan, Foster Sherrill. N_r. Sherrill_ further moved that the emergency clause be invoked. P-`r. The?oard agreed to contact companies handling this type equipment for informatior. and cost. Duncan t~ check cost of heating facilities for the police station and the fire station. MINUTED COAIT==HUED-Oct. 1+, 1965 The Firemen's Pension Plan eras discussed b~jt he Board. After discussion, Mr. Duncan moved that necessary steps to enact ordinances, necessary communications and paper work to enroll ourselves in the Firemen's Per;sion Flan F:,e carried out. Nor. Foster seconded the motion. Ayes, troth, Duman, Sherrill, Foster. The problem of fire alarm service was discussed. Tyr. Johnson had indicated that he wants to b e relieved of the responsibility. After discussion, the Board agreed that Nor. C:roth was to talk to Mr. Johnson again offering him a minimum of $15.00 per month and a msxirnum of ~,~i25.00 per month compensation fen his services. r~r. '=osecrans a~>peared speaking for property owners at 6th, 7th and Atlanta complaining that intersection gutters were in terrible condition. N"r. troth said they would see what could be done about it. The ~<.oard denied N7r. Ross Cummins permission to put a hour;e trailer on the former Ralrh Robertson property. N"r. Foster moved that land owners south of 4th St. to the city's south- w estern edge be contacted and asked to voluntairly come into the city. T~".r. Sherrill seconded tr:e motion. Ayes, Croth, Dunc<:r., lherrill, Foster. The prcperty owners involved are H. L. Coe, Clyde and Norris Fry, Ray Bailey, W. ?~:. Hawk and J. Ray Smith. N:r. Clay asked the Board for an increase ir, salary. Mr. troth suggested that Clay's salar;r be increased. Nr. Duncan moved that Pr. Clay's salary be increased to ~~387.50 per month. Nir. Sherrill seconded the motion. .1yes, troth, Duncan, :~herrill, Foster. The 'oard sanctioned a private merchant's patrol and clean-up man if the merchants wish tc do this.
