HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964.04.06_City Council Minutes:~ 3 April 6, 1964 The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at the Town Hall on the bth day of April, 1964, at 7:00 p.m. Present: W. J. Bryson Don Austin Floyd Flournoy V. D. Duncan Inez Odom Josephine Downey Ralph Carr M. S. Sawyer President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Treasurer Attorney The minutes of the last meeting of March 16 were read and approved as read. Mr. Groth asked for something to be done about drainage at 8th and Dogwood. Mr. Truman said poor drainage was ruining his home and several others near him. Groth asked that streets be cleaned after rain. Austin promised to see about getting streets cleaned. Kitty Oliver asked for a street light at 5th and Cedar. Austin moved we install the light providing it can be put on city property. Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes: Duncan, Austin, Bryson, Flournoy. Mr. Bryson asked for discussion on commercial zoning of the Reed property presented at last meeting. Mr. Charney, representing Soc, Sherrill, and others, protested on grounds that the posting was not sufficient, Reeds should state exactly what businesses are planned, as required by Tulsa Planning Commission. Also streets., sewer and water easements should planned and deeded to the city, and sufficient parking facilities planned. After much discussion over a map where Reed showed partial planning, Flournoy moved we zone the southeast and southwest corners of the ro ert Reeds a reed o dive city easements if needed prior to building and to comply with city r„lPs and regulations Duncan seconded the motion Ayes: Bryson, Flournoy. Duncan Qustin_ The Council agreed to hold the other two corners in abeyance until next meeting night. The Board received a RIGHT OF WAY LICEPdSE from the City of Tulsa Utility Board for pipelines and booster pumping station to be constructed. Mr. Bryson read a letter from Willie L. Kauffman asking for a permit to haul trash for Well's Food Market. Mr. Wells who was standing outside was asked to come in and was asked what the City could do to come to an agreement to haul his refuse again. He said $30. was a reasonable price as Kauffman had agreed to take care of it for that. After some discussion, the Board agreed to pick up the trash for $30. per month with service only three days a week as no garbage is included. Mr. Bryson presented a letter from Mansur, Steele & Associates, Inc. in answer to the questions of Flournoy at last meeting on method of advertising bids on water project. 5 April 6, 1964 The following claims were presented: Sinclair Refining Co. 62.93 Public Service Co. 9.07 Okla.
