HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964.04.20_City Council Minutes~ ~9 April 20, 1961+ The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at the Town Hall on the 20th day of April, 1964, at 7:00 p.m. Present: W. J. Bryson Don Austin V. D. Duncan Inez Odom Josephine Downey M. S. Sawyer President of the Board Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk Attorney Absent: Floyd Flournoy, out of town. Ralph Carr The minutes of the last meeting of April 6, were read and approved as read. Mr. Drewry stated that street lights should be set in a general pattern instead of on first one corner then another, as they can be found all over town. Street markers are always across the street from the street light. It was agreed to move the street marker to the north side of 8th and Atlanta and install the street light on the south side of 8th and Atlanta. This arrangement was agreeable to both Mr. Drewry and Dr. Reed. Mr. Drewry was given permission to lower a sewer lamp hole on his property. A letter was read by Mr. Bryson from Mansur & Steele asking for a choice of color for the stand pipe. The Board chose grey (No. 1). Mr. Austin suggested we write Mr. Lyons, Director of State Highway Dept. and ask for the Mingo Valley Expressway to be changed to Owasso Expressway since it runs nearer to Owasso than Mingo. Mr. troth thanked the Board for getting the streets cleaned after the rain. Dr. Reed stated that he had run a water test on the 10th of April and that it was satisfactory. Mr. Duncan moved we buy the Model 880 Elliott addressing machine with added feature of automatic feed for $650.50• Mr. Bryson seconded the motion. Ayes: Bryson, Austin, Duncan. Mr. Oliver thanked the Board for installing a street light near his home. Mr. Austin moved Gordon not use his personal car for police work. Bryson suggested he use the car when necessary but that we get it covered by city insurance as of April 20, 1964 at 8:30 p.m. It was agreed. Mr. Austin moved we pay for the radio which Gordon had installed in his car, at the cost of $119.50. Mr. Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes: Austin, Bryson, Duncan. Mrs. Chavis asked why THEY follow people who bring her home from work at night. Mr. Bryson promised to find out. Mr. Austin moved we pay X300. toward the electric bill for the Little League Baseball Field for the summer as usual. Duncan seconded the motion.
