HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964.05.04_City Council Minutes,~ May 4, 1964 The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at the Town Hall on the 4th day of May, 1964, at 7:00 p.m. Present: W. J. Bryson Don Austin Floyd Flournoy V. D. Duncan Inez Odom Josephine Downey President of the Board Trustee Trustee Trustee Town Clerk Deputy Clerk The minutes of the last meeting of April 20, were read and approved as read. Let the minutes reflect that the County Commissioners approved the towns petition annexing ~Layola Park of the following description, to the Town of Owasso, as of May 4, 1964: "Beginning at a point 177 Feet West of the Southeast Corner of the Southeast Quarter (SEw) of the Northeast Quarter NE~) of Section Thirty (30), Township Twenty-one (21) North, Range ~'~ourteen (14) East of the Indian Base and Meridian, Thence West on the South line of said SE ~ of the NE ~ of said Section Thirty (30), a distance of 503 Feet to a point, thence North, and along the East line of Marywood Addition to the 'j'own of Owasso, a distance of 746 Feet to a point, Thence East and parallel with the south line of the said SE ~ of the NE ~ of Section 30, to a point on the west line of Public Highway, a distance of 503 Feet, thence South along said highway, a distance of 74b feet to the point of beginning, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma. Mr. Flournoy said we need a jail, but nobody had a suggestion for means of payment. Mr. Mansur brought three sets of plans, and three booklets of Waterworks Extensions and Improvements, Contract No. Mo 11-2. He discussed the plans, then asked that we send two sets of the material to the State Health Department for approval and keep one set on file at Town Hall. It was agreed to accept bids on the Waterworks Extension on June 1, 1964 at S;UO p.m. Mr. Flournoy suggested we hire someone to clean drain pipes. Mr. Smith, representing the Free Will Baptist Church, said they had tied onto the sewer line by way of crossing the adjoining lot. He asked the City to pay for the line to the edge of the church property. After much discussion, the Board agreed that they could not accommodate as they have never paid anything on sewers except the first bond issue sewer line established in Owasso. Mr. Austin said the library has a new bicycle stand and asked where to install it. It was agreed to allow them one parking place in front of the library for the bicycles.
