May 18, 1964
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at the Town
Hall on the 18th day of May, 1964 at 7:15 p.m.

The minutes of the last meeting of May 4, were read and approved as read.
Mr. Roop was present in behalf of the need of more ball park space and lighting.
Mr. Austin said he felt that the city should do something about getting another
field lighted. He said Mr. Smith had told Mr. Ford, ball manager, that his land
next to the present field could be used but that approximately $800. was needed
for lights. The Jaycettes had volunteered $100. for one pole. He asked the City for
$300. Mr. Bryson said to go ahead and have three poles put in and we will get the money
for them.
Mr. Flournoy, Bryson, Austin, Duncan and Miss Downey and Mrs. Odom donated $10. each
for lights.
Mr. Rippetoe said he has a packer truck and is interested in refuse hauling when and
if the City is interested. He will give 15~ to the City for collecting and will pay
his own dump fee. ti discussion followed but no decision was made but it was agreed
that there would be an advertisement for bids when and if a change was made.
George Canton complained that his trash had not been picked up in two weeks. Mr.
Bryson said he would check on it.
A letter was read from Dorothy Stutsman complaining about police service on traffic.
A permit was received from the State Dept. of Health for Extended Waterworks with
options.
After discussion it was agreed that the drainage problem with drainage ditches,
including water, weeds, snakes, etc., in the three and four hundred blocks between
Ash and Main Streets and the four and five hundred blocks between Main and Atlanta
was the problem of the property owners.
Mr. Austin said our X10. building permit is too cheap and should be raised. Mr.
Sawyer was asked to look over the present ordinance, check with Tulsa requirements and
draw a new reasonable ordinance.
Mr. Clay asked for a raise for himself and Harmon. Bryson asked for a study until
next meeting night.
