The Board of Trustees of the Town of Owasso met in regular session at the Town
Hall ors the 20th day of Jul~•, 1964, at 7:15 p.m.

A motion w~~,s made by Mr. Bryson that we take the original motion off the table
made by I~ir. Flournoy last meeting. The motion was that we cut the liquor license
of Mrs. Park's liquor store in half to X100. instead of X200. Mr. Duncan seconded
the motion. Ayes: Bryson, Flournoy, Austin, Dur:can. After discussion, all were
in favor of the motion.
Mr. Bob Campbell as president of the chamber of Commerce, appeared and requested
that we ask Mr. Wegner and Mr. Keske of Tulsa Planning Commission to explain to
the Council the expansion plans of Tulsa to see if it is advantageous to Owasso.
He explained that there is a grant available to finance the planning, and that the
Chamber of Commerce had agreed to pay one-half of the dues of approximately $200.
per year. Mr. Bryson moved we write a letter and invite the men to come out on
August 17, 1964 meeting. Mr. Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes: Bryson, Flournoy,
Austin, Duncan.
Mr. Sawyer stated that dead-end streets cannot be sold but the City can vacate them.
Mr. Campbell asked the City permission for a parade and to close 2nd Avenue and
Broadway Street for Progress day on September 19, 1964. He said they had made
arrangements to clean the streets after the parade. He was liven permission.
Mr. Flournoy moved we discontinue business with ser~rice stations that do not allow
discount on gasoline and give service on flats. Duncan seconded the motion. Ayes:
Bryson, Flourncy, Austin, Duncan.
Let the minutes reflect that a letter was received on July 15, 1964 directed t o
Mansur, Steele & Associates relative to installing the Raw Water Pump. Mr. Bryson
answered the letter on July 16 instructing Byrd ~'onstruction Co. to proceed with the
installation after submitting working drawings to our Engineer.
The Council discus>sed and agreed that we ask the citizens to cease car-washing and
lawn watering between the hours of 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. during this water shortage period.
Miss Downey was asked to write letters asking property owners to mow weeds where they
are unsightly.
Mr. Clay was asked by the Council to have the owner remove the flemsy driveway pipe
at 305 North Ash Street.
Mr. Clay asked for his two-week vacation to begin August 1, 1964 and asked that Herb
Battenfield be hired to work in his place <<pproximately six hours a day from 12:00
midnight to 6:00 a.m. Duncan moved we hire Batten~ield and pay him X150. for fourteen
days for approximately six hours a day. Austin seconded the motion. Ayes: Bryson,
Flournoy, Austin, Duncan. '

Tulsa County Sheriff's
It was agreed to put the `1'tt~~~-Police telephone number in the telephone directory,
since it is the night and week end number for the Owasso Police Department.
Mr. Clay asked for an extension telephone in City Hall. It was agreed to check the
cost before having the telephone installed.
