HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968 06_Construction of sidewalks_1968.02.19RESOLUTION NUMBER 6 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE NECESSITY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS ADJACENT TO AND ALONG THE FOLLOWING AVENUES AND/OR STREETS, EXCEPT WHERE SIDEWALKS HAV PREVIOUSLY BEEN CONSTRUCTED: SOUTH SIDE OF ELEVENTH STREET (FORMERLY SHARON STREET) FROM THE WEST LINE OF THE MAIN STREET TO A POINT ONE HUNDED SISTEEN AND 1/10 FEET (116.1 ft.) WEST OF THE WEST LINE OF ATLANTA STREET (FORMERLY OKLAHOMA STREET); WEST SIDE OF ATLANTA STREET FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF ELEVENTH STREET, RUNNING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF SIXTY AND 9/10 FEET (60.9 ft) TO A POINT; EAST SIDE OF ATLANTA STREET FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF ELEVENTH STREET, RUNNING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF ONE HUNDRED SISTEEN AND 91/100 FEET (116.91.) TO A POINT; SAID SAIDEWALKS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN THE PROPERTY LINE AND CURTB AND TWELVE (12) INCHES FROM THE PROPERTY LINE, (UNLESS OTHER ALIGHNMENT IS SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FO THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA), AND, AS TO CORNER LOTS, SHALL INCLUDE ALL SIDEWALK APPROACHES AT INTERSECTING STREETS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PROPERTIES WHERE SIDEWALKS HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN CONSTRUCED, AND INCLUDING NECESSARY EXCAVATIONS, FILLS AND GRADING, AND DIRECTING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS AND SEWERS TO SUBMIT OR CAUSE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES OF THE PROBABLE COST THEREOF; AND, PROVIDING THAT OWNERS OF ADJACENT PROPERTIES SHALL HAVE THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER SUCH N OTICE OF THE FILING AND APPROVAL OF SUCH PLANS, PROFILES, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES IN WHICH TO CONSTRUCT SAID SIDEWALKS AT THEIR OW COST AND WITHOUT ASSESSMENT: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, each of the streets and roadways specified in the description hereinbelow have become heavily traveled thoroughfares; and in view of such facts and circumstances, it is necessary to construct sidewalls adjacent to and along the property h2reirbelow described in detail,, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OW ASS Q, OEIAHOM& Section 1. That public necessity requires the construction of concrete sidewalks adjacent to and along the property hereinbelow described in detailp all in the Town of Gwassog Oklahoma; and that said sidewalks shall be construsted out of cOncrete Of a mixture sufficient to provide 2500 pounds per square inch compression strength; said sidewalks shall be constructed in the ddmensions of four (4) feet in width, and such sidewalks shall be twelve (12) inches from, the pro pert - y i I- ne; all of said sidewalks shall be constructed betweeD the property line andcuxb.1 shall be four (4) inches in depth, with top elevated to two (2) inches higher than the height of the street euxt, and such construction shall include all excavation, fill and ETating Turk necessary to be done in such construstion, and shall be constructed on, over and across the location hereinafter described as follows: Con3truction of sidewalks adjacent to and along the following a7enuns and/or streeto, except where sidewalks have previously been constructed: South Side of Eleventh Street (formerly Sharon Street) from the Mist line of this Street to a point One Hundred Sixteen and 1/10 Feet (116.1 ft.) 'Nest of the Nbst line of Atlanta Street (formerly Oklahoma Street); West Side of Atlanta Street from the South line of Eleventh Streetp Running South a distance of Sixty and 91100 Feet (60.9 ft.) to a point; East Side of Atlanta Street from the South Line of Eleventh Street, running South a distance of C Hundred Sixteen and 911100 Feet (10.91 ft.) to a point; said sidewalks shall be construrted between the property line and cuxb anti twelve (1 2) inches from the property line, (unless other alignment is specifically authorized by the Board of Trustees of The ToWUM of Owasso) and as to corner lots shall include all sidowalk approaches at intersecting streets, with the exception of properties where sidewalks ha7e previously been constructed. Section 2. That said. side walp s shall be constructed between the propert 'Cly line and euxb and 12 inches from the property lire, and as to corner lots, shall include all sides ilk approaches to intersecting streets as to the property herein- above described in detail. Section 3. That the Superintendent of Streets and ",ewers be, and he is hereby directed to prepare or cause to be prepared plans, profiles, specifications and estimates of the probable cost of the construction of such sidewalks. section ection 5. That an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health and safety, and the furtherance of street improvements and the necessity for improvements thereof,, by reason whereof this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption and approval.
