Reed Absent: Glenn Rosecrans President of the Board Trustee Trustee Deputy Clerk Attorney Town Clerk Treasurer The minutes of the meeting of larch 4, 1963 were read. The board held its approval or correction of these minutes in abeyance. The minutes of the special meeting of March 11, 1963 were read. Hobbs of the First Baptist Church appeared before the board regarding the church expansion program his congregation proposes to commence. Reverend Hobbs stated it was necessary for his church to build as close to the property line as possible in order to assure future expansion of the church. He requested the board give the church permission to build under these conditions. The board at~ted it had no control over this matter as there is no building code of record. Mr. Herb Tyler presented a proposed plumbing code which he had prepared for the board's consideration Qnd acceptance. The board turned "7r. Tyler's information to Mr. Sawyer for his appraisal. Charney reported that he had 3ust le ~rned that the new library building did not have a water meter but had been added on to the meter presently handling the six taps in the Sherrill Building. After reviewing the ordinance, Mr. Sawyer stilted that the ordinance required each town lot to be serviced by a meter. He further stated the ordinance appeared to require a minimum water charge for each tap but did not require a water Minutes - March 18, 1963 Page 2 meter for each tap. The board directed Mr. Sawyer to draw an ordinance covering this matter to make the law equal for all. Mr. Sawyer will investigate the matter and make a recommendation to the board. The meeting was recessed at 8:50 P. M. The meet,~ng reconvened at ~' : 00 P . M. The board acknowledged a letter from Ted A. Williamson, Sanitary Engineer, State Department of Health, dated March 12, 1963, setting out the remaining requirements for completion of the new sewer system. Let the record reflect that the new lagoon sewer system was put into operation March 6, 1963. Let the record reflect that the new police car was put into operation on March 15, 1963.
