Present: W. J. Bryson Harold Charney Ed Hay es Marguerite M. Reed Josephine Downey H. W. Wright, Jr. President of the Board Trustee Trustee Clerk Deputy Clerk Attorney Absent: Richard Ernissee Treasurer The minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no additions or corrections, the minutes stood aparoved as read. The treasurer's report as of March 1, 1962 was presented as follows: General Fund $ 1,530.22 Street and Alley Fund 2,901.89 Sinking Fund 10,134.67 Water Fund 3,436.52 Water Fund - Special 1,7%8.00 Sewer Fund 960.73 Sewer Improvement Fund 1,398.76 Park Fund 446.10 Meter Deposit Fund 1,150.05 Cemetery Fund 1,31j.59 Mr. Bob Campbell of Public Service Company of Oklahoma was present at the meeting at the request of Ch:zrney. Mr. Charney wished to discuss the possibility ~' additional street lights. After a brief discussion Mr. Bryson requested time to consider the matter inasmuch as he was not aware that the problem would be presented at this meeting. Charney moved discussion on additional street lights be tabled until the next meeting. Second, Bryson. Ayes, Bryson, Chs.rney, Hayes. Mr. Bryson presented the letter of resignation of James M. Gott which read as follows: "To: City Council, City of Owasso Subject: Resignation from _>osition of Owasso City Policeman I hereby tender my resignation as aty police officer, ,us I have been offered another position in the city of Tulsa. I also would like to express my appreciation for haveing the opportunity of serving under such men as Bill Bryson, Harold Charney, and Ed Hays. Sincerely /s/ James M. Gott" Minutes - March 5, 1962 Page 2 Charney moved the meeting be adjourned for ten minutesat 8:10 P. M. Seccnd, Bryson. Ayes, Bryson, Charney, Hayes. Meeting was reconvened at 8:20 P. M. Charney moved that Mr. Goths resignation dated March 5, 1902 be accepted as read as of March 2, 1852. Second, Hayes. Ayes, Bryson, Charney, Hayes. Let the record reflect that Mr. Gott was suspended from duty by agreement on March 2, 1862. Mr. Skip Shannon was present at the meeting to apply for the position of policeman. Charney moved that Skip Shannon be hired as policeman for X300.00 per month. Second, Hayes. Ayes, Brysrn, Charney, Hayes. Hayes requested the record reflect that the position is temporary with the possibility of it becoming permanent later. Mr. Shannon~s employment was made effective immediately. Mr. Wright requested that before further business was brought before the Board that the question of his dismissal be resolved. Charney moved that the city attorney be dismissed. Motion died for lack of a second. Mr. Roy L. Henry and Dr. Guy D. Reed came before the Board to resolve the problem of 3.47 acres of land for sewer expansion owned by Mr. Henry with an option contract to Dr. Reed. Dr. Reed presented his associated, Mr. Ben Crowley, and his attorney, Mr. Jack Givens, to the Board. After some discussion, Mrs. Reed excused herself ~s clerk in order to be privileged to participate in the arguments. Miss Downey took over in the capacity of deputy clerk. After considerable discussion a possible verbal compromise was formed. The proposal was as follows: (a) If Dr. Reed and his associates picked up the option on the Henry land, they would assume the difference between $300.00 per acre and $660.00 per acre, their option price. (b) If Dr. Reed and his associates did not exercise their option, Mr. Henry would sell the desired acreage to the city at $4j0.00 per acre, a reduction of $210.00 per acre from his contract price to Dr. Reed. Mr. Givens was to put suc~, compromise into proper contract form to be presented to the Board at tree next meeting. Meeting was adjourned for ten minutes and then reconvened.
