RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, as
amended, provides for the making of grants by the Secretary
of Housing and Urban Development to States and
local public bodies to assist them in the acquisition
and development of permanent interest in land for open-
space uses where such assistance is needed for carrying
out a unified or officially coordinated program for the
provision and development of open-space alnd as part of
the comprehensively planned development of the urban area; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Owass, Oklahoma (herein-
after sometimes referred to as "Applicant:") desires to
acquire the surface of certain land described as proposed
park site, which land is to be held and used for permanent
open-space land for park and recreational purposes; and
whereas, title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,
and the regulations of the department of housing and
urban developement effectuating that title, provide that
no person shall be discriminated against because of race,
color, or natinal orgin in the use of the land acquired
and/or developed; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that no families and/or
individuals will be displaced as a result of the open-
space land project and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of said interest will be $20,500.00.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF OWASSO, OKLAHOMA;
Section 1. That an application be made to the
Department of Housing and Urban developemntn for a grant
in an amount authorized by Title VII of the housing act of 1961,
as amended, which amout is presently estimated
to be $10,250.00, and that the applicant
the Applicant will acquire and retain said land fox the
uses designated in said application and approved hy the
Department of Housing and Urban Developasent,
Section 4, That the United States of America and
the Secretary of Housing and Urban Eevelopment be, and
they are hereby assured of full compliance by the Appli-
cant with regulations of the Depar of Housing and
Man Developnent effectuating Title VI of the Civil
Rights Act of 196C
Section 5. That the kited States of America and
the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development be, and
they hereby are, assured of full compliance by the
Applicant with the Federal labor standards imposed
under Title VIT of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended.
Section 6. That an emergency hereby exists for
the preservation of the public health, safety and wel-
fare, by reason whereof this Resolution shall take effect
from and after its adoption and approval.
ADOPTED, and the emergency clause ruled upon separately
and approved this 5th day of May, 1969.
