Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President of the Board,''N.J. Bryson,
at City Hall, Owasso, Oklahoma, May, 15, 1961.

Minutes of the previous meeting were read. There being no additions or correct-
ions to the minutes, they stood approved as read.
The meeting was opened to new business to be presented from the floor.
Mr. Bill Boyd requested the city pay for lights for ball park for the three
summer months to aid the baseball program for Owasso youngsters. Estimated cost
will be approximately $80.00 to $100.00 per month. Charney moved that the city
pay the electric bill for the ball park for a period nt i- to exceed three months
of each summer, or $300.00, and the electric bill shall be paid for those persons
authorized to use the ball park by the city. Second, Davidson. Aye, Bryson, Allsup
Davidson, Charney. Mr. Boyd agreed to be responsible for meter and presenting the
billing to the city. The clerk was direcjed to request Dublic Service Company of
Oklahoma to set an electric meter for this purpose.
Mr. Glen E. Rosecrans announced he was opening a real estate office in Owasso.
He indicated he wished to cooperate with the City Council and suggested the
traffic light in the center of town be adjusted to work more efficiently and also
suggested a clean -up- paint -up campaign for Owasso. The suggestions were taken
under advisement.
Mr. Strawdey McCarty requested additional gravel be placed on the cemetery street
which was deteriorated by recent heavy rains. Council advised Mr. McCarty to
order the necesaary gravel to repair this condition and bill the city.
Mr. E. V. Gates presented a statement in the amount of $8.23 to cover the cost
of a back -water valve for his sewer to prevent sewage from backing up in his pro -
per *y. Charney moved that the statement be honored and that the proper city
employees install the valve. Second, Davidson. Aye, Bryson, Allsup, Davidson,

Bryson instructed all city employees present at meeting that they were always
welcome at council meetings but it would not be necessary for them to attend
unless specifically called.

Charney moved that the salary of the police judge be $25.00 for each trial
docket presided over and that, until further notice, dockets be set on the
third Saturday of each month; police judge to be called only if cases are
pending for trial. Second, Allsup. Aye, Bryson, Allsup, Davidson, Charney.
The council expressed its desire to acknowledge Flag 'Meek and F1a7 Day in June.
The clerk was directed to draw the proper proclamation. 7
Davidson presented the need for rules and regulations to make the placement of
graves and headstones uniform in the cemetery. Charney moved that the place-
ment of graves and headstones in the cemetery of the Town of Owasso shall be made
only subject to the approval of the sexton and other such rules and regulations
as the Board of Trustees mfr prescribe. Second, Davidson. Aye, Bryson, Allsup,
Davidson, Charney.
Charney advised the Board that, effective may 16, 1961, he was hiring Alvin Carol
Isaacs as night policeman at a salary of $250.00 per month. Mr. Isaacs will be
on probation for three months. The Board apdroved the terms of tree appointment.
Wright presented copies of the drafted charier to all members of the Board for
study. Discussion will be taken up at the next regular meeting.
Davidson moved the meeting be adjourned. Second, Charney. Aye, Bryson, Allsup
Davidson, Charney.
