Sheldon Pres. of Board Wayne Beane Trustee Floyd Flournoy Trustee Absent: Glenn Combs Trustee Lyle Smithers Town Clerk Visitors: Mr. & Mrs. A. B. Fields, James Ladd, ~er~x~eaa~x~c., Dale Zarge, and Dr. Evans. Minutes of the last regular meeting read and approved as regd. Brooks 34.37 Treasurer's report: May 4, 1959, Cont. '~ its The newly elected Tmwn Council was sworn in by the Town Attorney, Harold Charney. They are as follows: Wayne Beane ,Don Davidson, Tom ~. urer, McGuire, Raymond K. May, and Richard Ernissee, Town Clerk, also sworn in was Town Treas- Robert M. Anderson, Town Marshall, Eugene Royals Richardson, and Police Judge, Doyle Carter. The same signed the bath of Allegiance. Motion was made by May that Beane be elected President of Board. Seconded by Davidson, Beane was elected by acculamation. Mayor Beane asked Mr. Charney to read the rules under which the new board was to conduct the business of the Town of Owasso. Motion was made by Beane that Don Davidson be appointed Water Comm- issioner.Seconded by McGuire, motion carried 3-0. I~lotion was made by May that McGuire be appointed as Street Commission- er. Seconded by Davidson, motion carried 3-0. Motion was made by Beane that May be appointed Police Commissioner. Seconded by McGuire, motion carried 3-0. Motion made by May that Beane be appointed Sewer Commissioner. Seconded by Davidson, motion carried 3-0. Motion was made by May that Mr .Charney be retained as Town Attorney for the salary of $50.00 per month. Seconded by McGuire,. motion carried 3-0. Be It Resolved that the Board of Trustees go on record for commending C. A. Sheldon for his fine service to the Town of Owasso while serving as President of Board for the May 1957-May 1959 term. Motion made by Davidson that we install additional street lights so that there will be one light at each intersection from one end of Kansas St. to the other end. Seconded by McGuire, motion carried 3-0. Special meeting was called for by Beane for next Monday night, May 11th. Mr. Dale Large spoke to the new Council for the Owasso Chamber of Commerce. He reported that they were tivorking on the project for a new bank for Owasso and would go along on any improvement for the Town. Motion made by May to accept the offer of the Carnation Company to erect any appropriate monument to Little Richard without cost to the City on the site to be selected by the Park Committee. Seconded by McGuire, motion carried 3-0. May moved that we annex the tract of land which is now occupied by the Freewill Baptist Church and Missionary Baptist Church and Hale Bros.
