Council met in regular session at the Town Clerk's Office at 7:30 P.M.

Mr. Gayle was before the board asking about a city permit. He states that
he does not sell his products which are shrubgry, evergreens, fruit trees,
etc. He states that all of these products are shipped directly to the cust-
omer. Charney gave his opinion that we can not charge a fee because this
comes under the law of the Interstate Commerce. Motion made by McGuire that
we grant Mr. Gayle a permit without charging a fee. Seconded by Davidson,
motion carried.
Motion made by McGuire that we postpone until ~iext regular meeting of July 20,
the discussion of the contracts of Owen, Mansur & Steele, or until Beane
returns. Seconded by Davidson, motion carried.
Motion made by McGuire that we hire Ernest H. Cowles as a temporary Police-
man for the period covering 5th through 11th of July. Seconded by Davidson,
motion carried.
Motion made by Davidson that Bill Allsup start his vacation July 8th and
report back on the 22nd of July, and that we hire a replacement for this
period at a rate of $ 1.25 per hour. Seconded by McGuire, motion carried.
Motion to adjourn made by Davidson, seconded by McGuire, meeting, adjourned.
