Motion made by Rosecrans that we thank Mr. Lavendusky for his offer to take the job as City Clerk, and obtain the services of some woman to take care of said duties. Motion died for lack of a second. Motion made by Rice that Mr. Lavendusky~s offer to take minutes and give any assistance possible as a citizen and not as official clerk be accepted. Seconded by Chittenden. 3 ayes, 1 abstaining. Motion made by Rosecrans that Robert Zundel be paid $,50.00 for wages and sick leave for the month of August. Seconded by Chittenden. Carried, 3 ayes. Investigation concerning police coverage to he held in abeyance until next week. Motion made by Rosecrans that meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Rice. Meeting adjourned. Reese, Kenneth Thomas, Calvin Holloway, Don. F. Klahr, and Newt Turner. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Seconded by Chittenden. Motion carried. It was agreed by the council that Jerry Swanson continue a full report on available water supply for Owasso from the Oolagah Project for a. fee of $100.00, or less. A special meeting will be called at Jerry Swanson's office to review revised ordinances, Thursday, September 2~, at 6:00 p.m. A motion made by Rosecrans that the Assembly of God Church be permitted the use of the City Hall for a rummage sale on Progress Day. Seconded by Chittenden, and approved by the board. Motion made by Rosecrans that the Services of E. A. Bryson be dispensed. Seconded by Chittenden. Motion carried. Bryson will be given two weeks notice. Motion made by Chittenden that the Speed Laws be changed as follows: 35 MPH from North of Methodist Church to Allyn's Corner; 25 MPH from South of Methodist Church to the Railroad tracks. Seconded by Rosecrans, and motion carried. Motion made by Rosecrans that a full time man for police protection be employed at a salary of $250.00 per month. Seconded by Chittenden, and motion carried. Motion made to adjourn by Rosecrans, Seconded by Chittenden, and meeting adjourned. Approved: ~.~~ President City Clerk RUL~~:S AND REGUL~ITIONS COVERING DUTIES AND AUTHORITY GOVERNING CIVILIAN DErENSE AUXILIARY POLICE IN THE TOWN OF O'~rAS50. 1. Responsibility--City Marshall 2. Jurisdiction-- City of Owasso 3. Duties--As directed by the Town Marshall and in accordance with city ordinances of the totivn of Owasso. 4. The number of men on duty at once shall be governed by existing conditions and requirements of Town Marshall. 5. When on active duty as assigned by Town Marshall arrests may be ' made and prisoners conducted to court or city jail. (. Side arms, use of: All Civil Defense officers when on assignment of duties shall be granted permission to bear sidearms. 7. Representation--Liason between Civil Defense and City Council; Jack Stout.
