HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973.11.06 OPWA MinutesNovember 6, 1973 The Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session Tuesday evening, November 6, 1973 at 10:01 p.m. PRESENT: Joe Ross Chairman John Edelman City Engineer Jerry Myers Vice Chairman Josephine Downey Deputy Clerk Robert Ball Trustee Herb Tyler Water Sup't Dean barge, Secretary Delano Lang Water Dept. V. D. Duncan Trustee Cline Mansur Engineer Noble Campbell City Manager Ralph Schaefer Owasso Reporter Marcia G. Riggs City Clerk Mr. Ball moved that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as presented. Mr. Dun- can seconded. Ayes: Ross, Myers, Ball, Large,Duncan. Mr. Cline Mansur was asked to present plans and specifications for the Tulsa -Owasso Water Line. Mr. Large moved and Mr. Duncan seconded the motion that these plans and specifi- cations as presented by Mr. Mansur be accepted. Ayes: Ross, Myers, Ball, Large, Duncan. (Advertisement for bids begins Nov. 15 and taken through December 11, 1973., Mansur- Daubert and Williams will take care of placing publication notiees.) Mr. Mansur advised the Authority that there were five (5) tracts of land to secure rights - of -way on to lay the above water lines. One tract was from Tom Waugh, Jr.; two (2) were from the City of Tulsa and two (2) were from Mr. J. Ray Smith. Mr. Duncan moved that we acquire these rights -of -way. Mr. Large seconded the motion. Ayes: Ross, Myers, Ball, Large, Duncan. The Council was advised that First National Bank and Trust of Tulsa had requested a meeting with the Authority for the purpose of signing and completing the purchase of the Bonds (See Oct. Minutes). This meeting will be arranged and Mr. Ralph Schaefer of the Owasso Reporter requested to be notified so that he can take photos of this event. Mr. Large moved that the Claims be approved as presented. Mr. Myers seconded the motion. Ayes: Ross, Myers, Ball, Large, Duncan. Chairman Ross questioned the starting salaries for the employees ($500.00 per month) and after some discussion the Authority decided to table any further action on this matter. Chairman Ross suggested that the property where the old water tank is located be sold and additional property be purchased by the water plant so that things will be more centrally located. Mr. Mansur read a letter addressed to Mr. Hendon Crane, Coordinator for EPA concerning the 86th Street North Interceptor Sewer. Mr. Crane visited Owasso and was quite impressed with our city. It is hoped he will be helpful with this grant. • Mr. Duncan moved at 10:32 p.m. to adjourn. Mr. Large seconded the motion. Ayes: Ross, Myers, Ball, Large, Duncan.
