Mayor Spencer indicated that 18 acres of land, located between the sewer lagoon
and the apartment complex, south of City Hall, could be purchased by the City.
He said he had a letter giving the price at $106,000.00 but he felt the City
could obtain the property for less than that amount, at a low rate of interest.

Mayor Spencer indicated that 10 acres in this parcel was above the flood plain
and 8 acres was in the flood plain. The property is owned by Guy Reed.
Mr. Wrestler suggested that the Engineers and Ken Kite be included in a meeting
with Mr. Anderson of the Mercantile Bank, to see if financing could be worked
out. Mrs. Webb was instructed to inform Mr. Kite of the meeting so he would
be prepared with the financial needs at the meeting.
Mr. Bill Williams indicated that this land would be ideal for use in expanding
the sewer lagoons, which was a possibility we might be facing in the future with
the new EPA regulations.
