HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980.03.04_OPWA MinutesThe Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session on Tuesday, March 4, 1. -S 1980, in Council Chambers at City Hall, per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on City Hall Bulletin Board at 3:00 PM on February 29, 1980, and by reference made a part hereof. Present: Boyd Spencer, Chairman Robbie Fickle, Vice Chairman Don Thompson, Trustee Al Lambert, Trustee O Kenneth Thompson, City Manager Harold Charney, City Attorney Wauhilleau Webb, Recording Secretary Absent: None The meeting was called to order at 9:26 PM, with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 1 - APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS Motion was made by Robbie Fickle, seconded by Don Thompson, to approve Consent Agenda items, as follows, as published in the Owasso Reporter on February 28, 1980, and by reference made a part hereof. A. Approve Minutes of February 19, 1980 Regular Meeting. B. Approve Warrants for Payment. C. Approve Resolution No. 80-6. D. Approve Minutes of February 25, 1980 Special Meeting. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Thompson, Lambert, Mrs. Fickle, with Mrs. Fickle ab- staining on Warrants 620, 621 and 622. Nays - None Motion carried. ITEM 2 - APPROVE ADDITIONAL WARRANTS FOR PAYMENT Motion was made by Don Thompson, seconded by Boyd Spencer, to approve additional warrants for payment, and by reference made a part hereof. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Thompson, Lambert, Mrs. Fickle, with Mrs. Fickle ab- staining on Warrants 635 and 636. Nays - None Motion carried. ITEM 3 - NEW BUSINESS I t em Mr. Lambert asked Bill Williams how we are doing with Aquaculture and Mr. Williams responded they have been performing satisfactorily. Mr. Williams showed Council some of their reports. Owasso Public Works Authority March 4, 1980 Page Two I t em City Attorney mentioned that on the property being purchased from J. Ray Smith that the records should reflect the City is paying $1,000.00 per acre and not $55,000.00 total, as it is not exactly 55 acres. Item It was discussed that the most logical approach regarding the 40 acres just east of the high school and the section of land to the south of the high school, would be to formally request a deannexation from Rogers County Rural Water Dis- trict No. 3. All that we would be out would be the cost of four water taps and we would then contract back to Rogers County Rural Water District No. 3 to ser- vice the customers with water. It was the general consensus of the Board that Mr. Thompson pursue this matter. C 0 RECORDING SECRETARY
