HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981.05.05_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, May 5, 1981, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall, per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 1:00 PM on May 1, 1981, and by reference made a part hereof. ITEM 1 - CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 9:47 PM with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2 - SEATING AND SWEARING IN OF PHYLLIS GROSS AS NEW TRUSTEE. Phyllis Gross was given the Oath of Office by the City Attorney Attorney and seated as the Trustee for Ward 3. ITEM 3 - SEATING AND SWEARING IN OF BOYD SPENCER AS REELECTED TRUSTEE. Boyd Spencer was given the Oath of Office by the City Attorney and seated as the Trustee for Ward 4. ITEM 4 - ROLL CALL. Present: Boyd Spencer Al Lambert Dennis Burke Steven Clark Phyllis Gross Kenneth Thompson, City Manager Harold Charney, City Attorney Wauhilleau Webb, Recording Secretary Absent: None ITEM 5 - ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. Motion was made by Al Lambert, seconded by Dennis Burke, to appoint Boyd Spencer as Chairman for one year term of office to expire May 4, 1982. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Lambert, Burke, Clark and Mrs. Gross Nays - None Motion carried. ITEM 6 - ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN. Motion was made by Al Lambert, seconded by Boyd Spencer, to appoint Dennis Burke as Vice Chairman for one year term of office to expire May 4, 1982. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Lambert, Clark and Mrs. Gross Nays - None Abstain - Mr. Burke Motion carried. �1 Owasso Public Works Authority Page Two May 5, 1981 ITEM 7 - APPROVE MINUTES OF APRIL 21, 1981 REGULAR MEETING. Motion was made by Dennis Burke, seconded by Al Lambert, to approve minutes of Apirl 21, 1981 regular meeting and by reference made a part hereof. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Lambert, Burke, Clark and Mrs. Gross Nays - None Motion carried. ITEM 8 - OPEN BIDS FOR MATERIAL TO INSTALL A WATER BOOSTER PUMP ON THE NEW 16" WATER LINE ON 76TH STREET NORTH. Mr. Spencer publicly opened and read the two bids that were received. They were: Automatic Engineering for $4,183.00 and Goulds Pumps for $3,480.00. These bids were given to George Strella for evaluation and are to be awarded at the May 19, 1981 Board meeting. ITEM 9 - OPEN BIDS FOR MATERIAL TO BYPASS THE WATER PUMP STATION AT 19TH STREET AND HIGHWAY 169. City Clerk advised the Board that one bid had been opened by mistake by someone in the office, but resealed immediately and not seen by City Clerk. Motion was made by Dennis Burke, seconded by Al Lambert, to resubmit request for bids for material to bypass water pump station at 19th Street and Highway 169. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Lambert, Burke, Clark and Mrs. Gross Nays - None Motion carried. ITEM 10 - REVIEW STATUS OF REQUEST TO CONNECT TO THE ELM CREEK SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM. Mr. Thompson informed the Board that this request has been temporarily withdrawn. ITEM 11 - ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF SANITARY SEWER PERMITS. Oklahoma State Health Department requests Board minutes to reflect the receipt of the following permits for extension of the Owasso sanitary sewer system: A. Permit No. SL-81-023 Lakeridge Terrace Addition. B. Permit No. SL-81-105 for Elm Creek Subdivision, North of 76th Street North. C. Permit No. SL-81-114 for Elm Creek Subdivision, South of 86th Street North. Owasso Public Works Authority Page Three t ITEM 12 - APPROVE WARRANTS FOR PAYMENT. Motion was made by Dennis Burke, seconded by Al Lambert, to approve Mi through 1011, removing Warrant 997 to RWD 3 for further clarification to be re- submitted if the City Manager wishes, for $25,089.32, and authorize Chairman to sign same, and by reference made a part thereof. Ayes - Messrs. Spencer, Lambert, Burke and Mrs. Gross Nays - None Abstain - Dr. Clark Motion carried. ITEM 13 - NEW BUSINESS.
