HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982.11.02_OPWA MinutesThe Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session on Tuesday, November 2, 1982, in the Dining Room of the Owasso Community Center, per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on October 29, 1982, and by reference is amde a part hereof. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:28 p.m. with Chaiiman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd Spencer, Chairman Wauhilleau Webb, Vice -Chairman Phyllis Gross, Trustee James Smalley, Trustee Von Stockler, Trustee Dale Block, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ABSENT: None ITEM 4: APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF REGULAR OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY MEETING ON OCTOBER 19, 1962. Motion was made by Wauhilleau Webb, seconded by James Smalley to approve the minutes of October 19, 1982, by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Messrs. Stockler, Spencer, Smalley; Mrs. Webb NAY: None ABSTAIN:- Mrs. Gross h ITEM 5: BUSINESS A. CONSIDERATION OF SETTLEMENT OF EXISTING ENGINEERING CONTRACT WITH MANSUR-DAUBERT-WILLIAMS EPA STEP I. Mr. Block said he had not received the final charges for any work done by Mansur-Daubert-Williams on the EPA Step I project. He asked Mr. Cates if it would be possible to make a selection of another firm at this time. Mr. Cates said it was possible to make a selection as long as the City does not sign a con- tract before the settlement with Mansur-Daubert-Williams is complete. OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO NOV. 2, 1982 B. CONSIDERATION OF CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION/ENGI- NEERING CONSULTANT FOR EPA STEP I ENGINEERING STUDY. Mr. Block recommended that the Council approve Farrar -Hudspeth as the engineering consultant on the EPA Step I engineering study. Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Phyllis Gross, to accept the recommendation of the City Manager and approve Farrar -Hudspeth as the engineering consultant on the EPA/Step I engineering project. AYE: Messrs. Stockler, Smalley, Spencer; Mesdames Webb and Gross NAY: None Motion carried. 6. REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER Mayor Spencer asked for positive action to take care of the McLaughlin/O'Conners matter at the next Council meeting. Mrs. Gross asked if the City could ask them to state their inten- tions in writing. Mayor Spencer said that was what he would like the City Attorney to do. Mr. Block said it was urgent that this work be done before winter weather would make it much more difficult. 7. NEW BUSINESS There was no new business. Chair adjourned at 8:42 p.m. BO M.
