HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982.06.15_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, June 15, 1982, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 P.M. on June 11, 1982, and by reference is made a part hereof. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 8:20 P.M. with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE. ITEM 3: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Boyd Spencer, Chairman Wauhilleau Webb, Vice Chairman Jim Smalley, Trustee Von Stockler, Trustee Phyllis Gross, Trustee Ron Cates, City Attorney Dale Block, City Manager Sue Shelley, Recording Secretary ABSENT: None ITEM 4: APPROVE MINUTES OF REGULAR OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY MEETING ON JUNE 1, 1982. Motion was made by Boyd Spencer, seconded by Von Stockler to approve the minutes of June 1, 1982. AYES: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley and Stockler Mrs. Gross NAYS: None ABSTAIN: Mrs. Webb Motion carried. ITEM 5: PUBLIC HEARINGS: PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED OPWA BUDGET 1982- Motion was made by Phyllis Gross, seconded by Von Stockler to approve a public hearing on proposed OPWA Budget for 1982-83 for Tuesday, June 29, 1982 at 7:00 P.M. AYES: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley and Stockler Mesdames Webb and Gross NAYS: None Motion carried. Owasso Public Works Authority ITEM 6: REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER 106th & 97th STREET NORTH. Page Two June 15, 1982 UPDATE ON SEWER PROBLEMS ON Mr. Block requested that an emergency be declared so that the grinder pump could be purchased instead of let for bid. He stated that the septic tanks have been ordered and should arrive by today, and will be installed as soon as weather permits. The septic system will require a temporary construction easement and he requested Mr. Cates to initiate these documents. He also requested Mr. Cates to contact the liability insurance company and determine the progress of the claims caused by sewer damage. Motion was made by Boyd Spencer, seconded by Jim Smalley to declare an emergency to exist as to the sewer problem at 106th & 97th Street North and hereby authorize City Manager to purchase the needed equipment. AYES: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley and Stockler Mesdames Webb and Gross NAYS: None Motion carried. ITEM 7: APPROVAL OF WARRANTS: Mr. Spencer questioned #2457 for Mix -A -Go, Mr. Rollins of Owasso Auto Supply stated that this was a gas additive. Also Mr. Spencer questioned #2458 and Mr. Rollins stated that it was for preventative maintenance inventory. Motion was made by Boyd Spencer, seconded by Phyllis Gross to approve warrant #2393 through 2462 for $52,075.65 and to cancel #1290 for $5,371.56 to Owasso Auto Supply. ITEM 8: NEW BUSINESS. Motion was made by Phyllis Gross, seconded by Von Stockler to go into Executive Session to discuss the City Clerk vacancy. AYES: Messrs.
