RESOLUTION NO. 78 -25
WHEREAS, the City of Owasso, Oklahoma wishes to obtain the services of
Wayne K. Meyer, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, as City Manager, and,
WHEREAS, both the City Council and Mr. Meyer wish to make clear and
explicit the terms and conditions of employment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OWASSO,
OKLAHOMA that, in addition to the provisions of the laws of the State of Oklahoma,
and the Charter and Revised Code of the City of Owasso, Oklahoma, the following
are the terms and conditions of this agreement between the City and Mr. Wayne K.
Meyer:
Section 1. Terms.
a) That Mr. Meyer will receive an annual salary of $20,66+.00, such salary
to be reviewed annually on anniversary date of promotion. If a cost of
living raise is given to the regular City employees, that it also apply
to the City Manager's position, if it is given to the employees over 6 months
after promotion. If given in less than 6 months from date of promotion,
then I would receive the same percentage as given the employees earlier,
at the beginning of next fiscal year.
b) That Mr. Meyer will receive all benefits and allowances given other
city employees that he may legally- receive, except that, after 5 years
as City Manager, he receive 3 weeks vacation.
c) That Mr. Meyer receive, in addition to other compensation, an automo-
bile allowance in an amount mutually agreed upon by him and the City Council,
or a leased car, with insurance and gas paid by City. The car would be
used for City business only.
d) That the City will pay the annual membership fees to those professional
associations as both Council and Mr. Meyer agree offer mutual benefits to
both the City and the City Manager,
e) That Mr. Meyer be allowed reasonable time and expenses to attend
workshops, seminars, and other professional training necessary for
professional development, provided that any such program that requires
him to be absent from his duties for more than 48 hours must be approved
by the City Council in advance.
f) That, in the event Mr. Meyer should resign as City Manager of Owasso,
he must submit written notice to the City Clerk at least thirty (30) days
prior to the effective date of that resignation or lose all pay and benefits
for the thirty (30) days prior to the effective date of resignation.
g) That in the event the employment of Mr. Meyer is terminated with or
without cause, he will receive all pay, benefits, and allowances as set
forth in the Charter, or as Council deems.
h) That the moving expense to move Mr. Meyer and his family from
Broken Arrow to Owasso be paid by the City.
Section 2. Effective Date. This agreement shall become effective as of
October 16, 1978.
