HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988.04.19_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE ONE APRIL 19, 1988 On Tuesday, April 19, 1988, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 1988. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with Chairman Stockler presiding. ITEM 2: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Von E. Stockler, Chairman Mark Thompson, Vice -Chairman Patricia Marlar, Trustee Stacy Lamb, Trustee V. Mike Taylor, Trustee Rodney Ray, City Manager Ronald Cates, O.P.W.A. Attorney Jane Buchanan, Secretary ABSENT: None ITEM 3: CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF APRIL 5, 1988. A motion was made by S. Lamb, seconded by M. Taylor, to approve the minutes of April 5, 1988, as written, by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Lamb, Taylor, Marlar, Thompson, Stockler NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO APRIL 19, 1988 ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION AND VOTE TO APPROVE THE WARRANTS. A motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by P. Marlar, to approve the warrants as follows: (1) $52,018.27 (2) Payroll $13,809.48. AYE: Thompson, Marlar, Lamb, Taylor, Stockler NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 1TEM 5: CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR POLY - CARTS. THIS REQUEST IS TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR PROVIDING TRASH CARTS TO THE CITY OF OWASSO BETWEEN MAY 1, 1988 AND JUNE 30, 1989 IN MINIMUM LOTS OF 100 UNITS PER ORDER. After this item was presented to the Trustees by Mr. Ray, a motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by P. Marlar, to approve the request to solicit for bids on poly -carts as recommended. AYE: Thompson, Marlar, Taylor, Lamb, Stockler NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 6: CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE GAS SAFETY MONITOR FOR USE BY THE SEWER DEPARTMENT. Mr. Ray presented this request to the Trustees stating this is not a budgeted item but that there is money in the Sewer Department of purchase this monitor. This is a request of the Safety Committee and staff to insure the well-being of the crews that enter manholes where gases accumulate. After discussion by the Trustees, a motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by M. Taylor, to approve the request to advertise for bids on the gas monitor. AYE: 'Thompson, Taylor, Lamb, Marlar, Stockler NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 Mr. Taylor asked that an operating procedure be put in place prior to the use of this gas monitor. With there being no further business to be brought before the Trustees, Chairman Stockler asked for a motion to adjourn. A motion Was made by P. Marlar, seconded by S. Lamb, to adjourn.
