HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983.07.05_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, July 5, 1983, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on July 1, 1983. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:18 p.m, with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd Spencer, Chairman Wauhilleau Webb, Vice -Chairman James Smalley, Trustee Von Stockler, Trustee Dale Block, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ABSENT: Phyllis Gross, Trustee ITEM 4: APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION OF OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY, JUNE 21, 1983. r Motion was made by Von Stockler, seconded by Mayor Spencer, to it. approve the minutes of June 21, 1983, by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler; Mrs. Webb NAY: None ABSTAIN: Mr. Smalley Motion carried. ITEM 5: BUSINESS A. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF OKLAHOMA STATE DEPT. OF HEALTH PERMITS: #SL-83-245 THREE LAKES III #SL-83-284 GERMAN ACRES MOBILE HOME PARK #WL-83-351 THREE LAKES III #WL-83-354 EL RIO VISTA III Mr. Smalley asked how sewer was being handled for the mobile homes that had already moved in at German Corners Mobile Home Park. Mr. Block said a company has been punping them out and that PSO would notify him before the lift station was hooked up. Mayor Spencer asked if the contractor for the mobile home park had obtained a permit from the Highway Dept. to bore the highway. Mr. Block said he couldn't say for sure, but he would find out. The Mayor asked that acknowledgement be delayed on #SL-83-284 until the permit was verified;in writing by the Highway Dept. OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO JULY 5, 1983 Motion was made by Mayor Spencer, seconded by James Smalley to acknowledge receipt of Permits #SL-83-245, #WL-83-351 and #WL-83-354. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley; Mrs. Webb NAY: None Motion carried. B. OPENING OF BIDS ON SEWER CLEANING MACHINE Mayor Spencer opened two bids received for the sewer cleaning machine: (1) Midwestern Equipment Company, Tulsa, Oklahoma 1 MHY-360G Myers High Pressure Hydraulic Sewer Cleaner - FOB Owasso, Oklahoma $16,799.00 Terms Net 30 Days (2) Baker Equipment Company, Edmond, Oklahoma 1 SRECO Model HS-1800 Trailer Mounted High Pressure Sewer Clearner - FOB Owasso, Ok. $15,690.00 Terms Net 20 Days Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Wauhilleau Webb, to asked the City Manager to review the bids and make a to recommendation the Council at the July 19, 1983, meeting. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley; Mrs. Webb NAY: None Motion carried. C. CONSIDERATION OF REQUEST TO CONNECT TO THE OWASSO SEWER SYSTEM BY THE PINE TREE MOBILE HOMEPARK. Mayor Spencer reported on a meeting he and the City Manager had with Mr. Lloyd Hubbs of Washington County Rural Water District. He said Mr.. Hubbs was most helpful and cooperative and would work with the City in any way he could. Mr. Hubbs said if the land in question were annexed to the City, Rural Water would step aside and there would be no problem. They could also put in a master meter. The Mayor said he needed more time to make a decision on the matter. The Mayor asked representatives of the Pine Tree Mobile Home Park if they would be laying the line themselves and they said they would lay their own line. OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE THREE JULY 5, 1983 The Mayor suggested that the representatives of the mobile home park keep in touch with the City Manager as to any upcoming developments and the matter will be put on the agenda again as soon as something definite is known. 6.
