HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983.03.01_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, March 1, 1983, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on February 25, 1983, and by reference is made a part hereof. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:27 p.m. with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd M. Spencer, Chairman Wauhilleau Webb, Vice -Chairman James Smalley, Trustee Phyllis Gross, Trustee Von Stockler, Trustee Dale Block, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, gecretary ABSENT: None ITEM 4: APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION OF OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY, FEBRUARY 15, 983. Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Mayor Spencer to approve the minutes of February 15, 1983, by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley, Stockler; Mrs. Webb NAY: None ABSTAIN: Mrs. Gross ITEM 5: BUSINESS No business at this time. ITEM 6: REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION/HALE-CLARK SEWER TAP MATTER Motion was made by Wauhilleau Webb, seconded by Mayor Spencer, to go into Executive Session at 8:29 p.m. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley; Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Gross NAY: None Motion carried. Meeting reconvened at 8:58 p.m. OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO MARCH 1,,1983 ITEM 7: REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER A. UPDATE ON ENGINEERING WORK FOR POSSIBLE BOND ELECTION Mr. Block stated that he had asked Al C. Young Co. if they would assist in putting together the engineering papers necessary in preparation for the possible bond election. They are familiar with the subject and are interested, especially if they might be doing the work if the bond election passes. Mr. Block said he didn't think it would be in the City's best interest to have an open end contract. He said that they then offered to work on an engineering curve. Mr. Block said he preferred to have the preliminary work done on an hourly basis and negotiate a contract if the bond election passes.
