(A) CONSIDERATION OF AGREEMENT WITH LOWRANCE RIVERDOGS, INC./
USE OF MUNICIPAL LAGOON.
Mr. Block reported that he had checked with the Health Department
and the Environmental Protection Agency and they had no objection
Q to the use of salamanders in the City's waste -water lagoons. Since
salamanders eat algae, which is a problem in these lagoons, this
project could be very beneficial to the City. Mr. Block suggested
that Mr. Lowrance meet with Mr. Cates to work out an agreement
that would be acceptable to both. Mr. Smalley asked about the
length of the agreement. Mr. Block said they had discussed a one
year agreement with a one year option. Mr. Smalley asked when
harvesting would occur. Mr. Lowrance said harvesting would begin
about the first of June. He explained the process of harvesting
and spoke on his research and the advantages of having these
salamanders in waste -water lagoons.
