HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984.10.16_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, October 16, 1984, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on October 12, 1984. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. with Chairman Spencer presiding. 160 ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd M. Spencer, Chairman Robert Peel, Trustee James Smalley, Trustee Dan Galloway, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ABSENT: Wauhilleau Webb, Vice -Chairman Von Stockler, Trustee ITE11 4: CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF'MINUTES"OF'OCTOBER 2, 1984 OPWA MEETING. Motion was made by Mayor Spencer, seconded by James Smalley, to approve the minutes of October 2, 1984, by reference made a part hereof. ITEM 5: BUSINESS: A. CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ON PURCHASE OF 240 to 300 SQUARE FOOT PORTABLE OFFICE BUILDING FOR OFFICE SPACE FOR PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AND STREET DEPT. Mr. Galloway and Mr. Lloyd Hubbs, Public Works Director, discussed the need for new office space with the Authority and the various types of building space that would be acceptable. Motion was made by Mayor Spencer, seconded by Robert Peel, to authorize the advertising for bids on a portable office building for Public Works Director and Street Dept. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. B. CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ON PURCHASE OF THREE VEHICLES FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. Mr. Galloway and Mr. Hubbs discussed the types of vehicles needed and how they would be used. Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Robert Peel, to OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO OCT. 16, 1984 authorize the advertising for bids on purchase of three vehicles for the Public Works Department. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. 19 6. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY Mr. Cates advised that he and Danny Bird of Al C. Young and Associates have concluded discussions with Mr. & Mrs. Finnell regarding sewer line easement. He said the one large section left is that of Larkin Bailey and he does not anticipate problems obtaining that easement. 7. REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER None 8. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Items concerning the street sweeper and repair expense on the com- mercial trash truck were discussed. An assessment of the condition of the street -sweeper was requested. Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Robert Peel, to approve OPWA claims in the total amount of $101,333.87. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Smalley, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. 9.
