HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985.05.21_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, May 21, 1985, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on May 17, 1985. ITEM l: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Chairman Spencer. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd 11. Spencer, Chairman Von Stockler, Trustee James Smalley, Trustee Robert Peel, Trustee Dan Galloway, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ABSENT: Kenneth Wood, Trustee ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MAY 7, 1985 O.P.W.A. MFFTTNC Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Von Stockler, to approve the minutes of May 7, 1985, by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. ITEM 5: CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION OF CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE PROOF OF CLAIM IN THE BANKRUPTCY COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF OKLAHOMA CASE #65-00415, TAYLOR, RITA GAIL. ITEM 6: CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION OF CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE PROOF OF CLAIM IN THE BANKRUPTCY COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF OKLAHOMA CASE #82-01446, CHARLES L. AND IRENE .B.A. BUD'S TRASH SERVI ITEM 7: CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION OF CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE PROOF OF CLAIM IN THE BANKRUPTCY COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS CASE #385-308520M-7, PATRICK WARREN LARKIN AND KRISTY BETH LARKIN. Mr. Cates reviewed each item with the Authority. Motion was made by Mayor Spencer, seconded by Von Stockler to authorize the City Attorney to file proof of claim on Case #85-00415, Rita Gail Taylor; to take no action on Case #82-014!-r6, Charles and Irene Sallee; and to take no action on Case #385-308520M-7, Patrick Warren Larkin and Kristy Beth Larkin. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Peel N� NAY: None Motion carried. 8. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Motion was made by James Smalley, seconded by Robert Peel, to approve the claims as submitted in the total amount of $75,329.79. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. 9. REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY None at this time. 10. REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER - FOLLOW UP REPORT ON THE CONDITION OF THE LIFT STATION ON 106TH ST. AND PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS. Mr. Galloway reported to the Authority on the present condition of the lift station on 106th St. and proposed improvements. There was further discussion with the Authority, City Manager, City Attorney and Mr. Bob Wayland. 11. NEW BUSINESS Mayor Spencer reported that he had talked with Paul Hodges of the State Health Department regarding the status of the water treatment facility and that although there was still no guarantee, prospects were very good for Owasso getting the needed funding. He said that by June 22 the Authority should be advised as to whether the project is approved by the State, and that on August 2, 1935, the State Healtiz Department will hold a public hearing for the EPA funding.
