HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985.09.03_OPWA MinutesOn Tuesday, September 3, 1985, the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at City Hall per the Notice of Public Hearing and Agenda posted on City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on August 30, 1985. 11W ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:28 p.m. with Chairman Spencer presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE ITEM 3: ROLL CALL PRESENT: Boyd M. Spencer, Chairman James Smalley, Vice -Chairman Von Stockler, Trustee Kenneth Wood, Trustee Robert Peel, Trustee Dan Galloway, City Manager Ron Cates, City Attorney Jim Dunlap, Asst. City Mgr./City Planner Ann Hendrickson, City Clerk ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA. A. MINUTES OF OPWA MEETING OF AUGUST 20, 1985 B. ENTRY OF APPEARANCE & DIaCLAIMER/EDDIE PROCTOR, ET AL, V. CITY OF OWASSO. C. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PERMIT NO. S'L-85-228 FOR to-, CONSTRUCTION OF SEWER LINE TO SERVE HERITAGE ADDITION. Motion was made by Von Stockler, seconded by Mayor Spencer, to approve the Consent Agenda. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Wood, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. ITEM 5: DISCUSSION REGARDING WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMERCTAL REFUSE SERVICE/BRUCE MALEC. Mr. Bruce Malec, General Manager of Waste Management, spoke to the Authority regarding the possibl'ity of Waste Management work- ing with the City on setting two large dumpsters for citizens to deposit large items free of charge as a clean-up service. He also stated that Waste Management wished to be a part of the com- munity and would like to make some kind of contribution. He asked for suggestions as to what would be most beneficial. ITEM 6: CONSIDERATION OF AUTHORIZATION OF ACTING SIGNATOR FOR FINANCIAL TRANSACTION DURING TRANSITION IN CITY TREASURER'S nFFTC.F. _ IN QVLA SEPT. 3, 1985 PAGE 2 Motion was made by Chairman Spencer, seconded by Mr. Stockler, to authorize Bonnie J. Claytor, Purchasing Agent, as acting signator for financial transaction during transition in City Treasurer's office. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Wood, Peel NAY: None Motion carried. ITEM 7: REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY Mr. Cates reported on action he had taken on behalf of the Owasso Public Works Authority in the matter of Glenpool vs. Creek County Rural Water District. ITEM 8: REPORT FROM CITY MANAGER Mr. Galloway stated that he would have a date for fall cleanup program in Owasso at the next meeting. ITEM 9: NEW BUSINESS None Motion was made by Von Stockler, seconded by Robert Peel, to adjourn. AYE: Messrs. Spencer, Stockler, Smalley, Wood, Peel NAY: None Motion carried.
