HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987.03.03_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE ONE MARCH 3, 1987 On Tuesday, March 3, 1987 the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 1987. ITEM l: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. with Chairman Wood presiding. ITEM 2: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Kenneth M. Wood, Chairman Von E. Stockler, Vice -Chairman Boyd M. Spencer, Trustee Robert M. Peel, Trustee Allen C. Sumpter, Trustee Bob Allen, Acting City Manager Ronald D. Cates, O.P.W.A. Attorney Jane Buchanan, Secretary ABSENT: None ITEM 3: CONSIDERATION AND VOTE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 17, 1987. A motion was made by B. Spencer, seconded by V. Stockler, to approve the minutes kow by reference made a part hereto. AYE: Spencer, Stockler, Peel, Sumpter, Wood NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION AND VOTE TO APPROVE THE WARRANTS. A motion was made by B. Spencer, seconded by R. Peel, to approve the warrants as submitted. AYE: Spencer, Peel, Sumpter, Stockler, Wood NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 5: PRESENTATION OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD TO FRED KEAS. Chairman Wood presented the award to Mr. Keas and stated the Board of Trustees appreciation of the work he had done since joining the city. He congratulated him on his retirement and wished him well. [-09 OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO MARCH 3, 1987 ITEM 6: REOUEST TO ADDRESS THE TRUSTEES ON THE FOLLOWING ITEM PERTAINING TO: Glenpool Utility Services Authority, a Utility Trust, Planiff-Appelle, vs. Creek County Rural Water District No. 2, and Jody Sweetin, an in- dividual, Defendants -Appellants and Creek County Rural Water District No. 2, Third Party Plaintiff -Appellant, vs. Farmers Home Administration, United States of America, Third Party Defendant-Appelle; In the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit; Case No. 86-2226. AND CONSIDERATION AND VOTE OF ANY ACTION TO BE TAKEN IN REGARDS TO SUCH. Mr. Ron Cates addressed the Board of Trustees on this matter and asked -if they desire legal counsel to continue in this case. After discussion, a motion was made by B. Spencer, seconded by K. Wood, to approve Mr. Cates continuing in this case on the Board of Trustees behalf. AYE: Spencer, Wood, Stockler, Sumpter, Peel NAY: None MOTION: Carried ITEM 7: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. MANAGER. No Report. ITEM 8: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. ATTORNEY. No Report. ITEM 9: NEW BUSINESS. None ITEM 10: VOTE TO ADJOURN. A motion was made by V. Stockler, seconded by B. Spencer, to adjourn.
