HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987.05.19_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE ONE MAY 19, 1987 On Tuesday,May 19, 1987 the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 1987. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 8:37 p.m. with Chairman Stockler presiding. ITEM 2: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Von Stockler, Chairman Mark Thompson, Vice -Chairman Kenneth Wood, Trustee Patricia Marlar, Trustee Stacy Lamb, Trustee Rodney Ray, City Manager Ronald Cates, O.P.W.A. Attorney Jane Buchanan, Secretary ABSENT: None ITEM 3: CONSIDERATION AND VOTE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF MAY 5, 1987. A motion was made by K. Wood, seconded by V. Stockler, to approve the the minutes of May 5, 1987 by reference made a part hereof. AYE: Wood, Stockler, Marlar Lamb, Thompson NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 4: CONSIDERATION AND VOTE TO APPROVE THE WARRANTS. After discussion, a motion was made by K. Wood, seconded by P. Marlar, to approve the warrants as submitted with the exception of the tire changer for $1,500.00. This item must be an agenda item for approval of Trustees prior to it being placed on the warrant list. AYE: Wood, Marlar, Thompson, Lamb, Stockler NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 5: DISCUSSION OF SECTION 17-201-2 PERTAINING TO "HOUSEHOLD REFUSE". Mr. Ray presented this item with the Trustees stating at the present time the ordinance in place states the City will pick up only ninety (90) gallons of refuse per household. The present practice is to pick up the polycart which holds ninety gallons plus three additional OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY PAGE TWO MAY 19, 1987 trash bags up to thirty gallons each. In some instances where grass clippings are bagged during the mowing season, the City is picking up even more. He feels that the ordinance either needs to be enforced or the ordinance needs to be amended to reflect the desires of the Trustees so that there is a consistancy in the service offered. After discussion by the Trustees, Chairman Stockler asked Mr Ray to come to the June 2nd meeting with several proposals that he feels would work so the Board may vote on this item. ITEM b: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. MANAGER. None ITEM 7: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. ATTORNEY. None ITEM 8: NEW BUSINESS. None ITEM 9: VOTE TO ADJOURN. With there being no further business to be brought before the Trustees, the Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. A motion was made by K. Wood, seconded by M. Thompson, to adjourn.
