HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990.04.17_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY APRIL 17, 1990 On Tuesday, April 17, 1990 the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 1990. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with Chairman Marlar presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE. The flag salute was led by Chairman Marlar. ITEM 3: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Patricia K. Marlar, Chairman Mark Thompson, Vice Chairman John P. Phillips, Trustee Stacy P. Lamb, Trustee Von E. Stockler, Trustee Rodney J. Ray, City Manager Ronald D. Cates, O.P.W.A. Attorney Jane Buchanan, Secretary ABSENT: None A quorum was declared present. ITEM 4: REQUEST APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE APRIL 3, 1990 MEETING. A motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by V. Stockler, to approve the minutes, as written, by reference hereto. AYE: Thompson, Stockler, Phillips, Lamb, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 PM 6 OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY APRIL 17, 1990 ITEM 5: REQUEST APPROVAL OF THE WARRANTS. A motion was made by V. Stockler, seconded by J. Phillips, to approve the warrants as follows: (1) $9,377.53 and (2) Payroll $17,454.01. AYE: Stockler, Phillips, Lamb, Thompson, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 6: REQUEST FOR POLICY DECISION RELATING TO A REQUEST BY THE OWASSO PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR THE O.P.W.A. TO ASSIST IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WATER MAIN LINE TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO A NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Mr. Ray presented this item to the Trustees. Mr. Dale Johnson, Superintendent of Schools, addressed the Trustees with his request for assistance in constructing a twelve inch water line to the new elementary school located at 86th Street North and 145th East Ave. After discussion by the Trustees, a motion was made by Chairman Marlar, seconded by V. Stockler, to defer this item until the May 1st meeting. AYE: Marlar, Stockler, Phillips, Lamb, Thompson NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 7: REQUEST FOR APPROVAL TO AWARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE BRUSH CHIPPER. Mr. Ray presented this item stating bids were opened at 2:00 p.m. on April 3, 1990. Six bids were received. The staff reviewed all bids received and recommends awarding a contract to Statewide Service Company, Inc. in the amount of $13,310.00 for a diesel engine brush chipper. A motion was made by M. Thompson, seconded by V. Stockler, to approve the recommendation to award the contract to Statewide Service Company, Inc. in the amount of $13, 310.00 for the diesel engine brush chipper.
