HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992.11.17_OPWA MinutesOWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY NOVEMBER 17, 1992 On Tuesday, November 17, 1992 the Owasso Public Works Authority met in a regular session in the Council Chambers at the Community Center per the Notice of Public Meeting and Agenda posted on the City Hall bulletin board at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 1992. ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:12 p.m. with Chairman Marlar presiding. ITEM 2: FLAG SALUTE. The flag salute was held during the City Council meeting preceding this meeting. ITEM 3: ROLL CALL. PRESENT: Patricia Marlar, Chairman Jason Gittelman, Vice Chairman John Phillips, Trustee Bob Randolph, Trustee James Smalley, Trustee Steve Compton, Assistant City Manager Ronald D. Cates, O.P.W.A. Attorney Jane Buchanan, Secretary ABSENT: Rodney J. Ray, City Manager A quorum was declared present. ITEM 4: REQUEST APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING ON NOVEMBER 3. 1992. A motion was made by B. Randolph, seconded by J. Phillips, to approve the minutes as written, by reference hereto. AYE: Randolph, Phillips, Gittelman, Smalley, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 1 OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY NOVEMBER 17, 1992 ITEM 5: REQUEST APPROVAL OF THE CLAIMS. A motion was made by B. Randolph, seconded by J. Phillips, to approve the claims as follows: (1) $17,169.61 and (2) Payroll $18,377.12. AYE: Randolph, Phillips, Smalley, Gittelman, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 6: CONSIDERATION AND APPROPRIATE ACTION RELATING TO A REQUEST FOR THE TRUSTEES TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE STAFF TO DISPOSE OF SUCH EQUIPMENT THROUGH AUCTION. Mr. Compton stated this request was presented to the Council at the meeting prior to this meeting. This is requesting the Trustees declare surplus various items so they may be disposed of at a public auction held at 11:00 a.m. on November 231 1992 along with items declared surplus under the Council's authority. After discussion by the Trustees, a motion was made by J. Phillips, seconded by J. Smalley, to declare surplus the listed items and authorizing the staff to dispose of them at a public auction on November 23, 1992 in conjucioun with the City. AYE: Phillips, Smalley, Gittelman, Randolph, Marlar NAY: None MOTION: Carried 5-0 ITEM 7: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. MANAGER. Mr. Ray arrived at the meeting from Oklahoma City and informed the Trustees that our application to the Water Resources Board was approved today not to exceed 6.1 million dollars which is greater than our application amount. ITEM 8: REPORT FROM O.P.W.A. ATTORNEY. None ITEM 9: UNFINISHED BUSINESS. None F 1 OWASSO PUBLIC WORKS AUTHORITY NOVEMBER 17, 1992 ITEM 10: NEW BUSINESS. None ITEM 11• ADJOURN. With there being no further business to be brought before the Trustees, a motion was made by J. Gittelman, seconded by J. Phillips, to adjourn.
